George Adamson - known as 'The Father of Lions', the main figure behind the 'Born Free' book and movie (and Elsa the Lion), and the man who helped Christian the Lion transition from a young lion cub raised in London to the wild in Kenya
The similarities are more striking in the following video, particularly around the 4:45 mark (showing the last reunion between those two Aussie guys and Christian the Lion)

Okay, I've never seen the movies but my company has some licensing rights to use the images. Every time I see this kid Troy, I think of our old buddy Basement Kahuna.
