Oh yes, you can bring anything onboard: coolers, beer, booze, food. They have cups and ice for drinks, and you can buy booze, beer, wine, and food onboard if you wish.

Oh, you'll be drunk allright! Woozy, perhaps. Queasy, I hope not!

I have an iron stomach and can hold my own with the best of 'em! The trick is to eat plenty while you drink. In Spain we drank until 5 or 6AM some nights and until 3 or 4 most nights because we were eating snacks all night.

The nice thing about the Nugget is that the rooms are pretty quiet so you can sleep in easily.

Bring your suit because they have a big glass-covered pool on the roof to help sooth any hangover you may have! Oh, the Bloody Mary bar in the lobby is good for the morning after too.

I want to add that we'd love to see anyone who wants to meet us in Reno that weekend--you don't have to take the train with us party animals! We are all staying at John Asquaga's Nugget in Reno/Sparks because that is where Trader Dicks is.

That's a great looking schedule. I'd be very hesitant to try to add anymore to that. (There's not much else anyway) We won't be there all that long anyway, and I don't want to spend the whole time in taxis.

I say Oyster Bar for dinner Friday Night. Steak House is too $$$. Nothing like raw oysters and creamy chowder on yer gut after drinking all day!

There's really only 2 bars worth visiting in the Peppermill- fish and fireside. I was at Dick's over Thanksgiving, and it was open pretty damn late. I don't remember exactly how late because, well, I was trashed.

By the way, the Hundred Play Video Poker machine across from the front of Dick's is mine. All mine. Try to push me off and I'll bite your fucking hands off.

What else are we going to do while drinking? I'm with martiki too, but I'm a video poker man. Just give me a table with full-pay and load me up with free drinks.

For the lowdown on the Nugget's gambling choices check out this page (scroll down to "The Casino"):

I'm more of a roulette/slots/accepting free drinks from sleazy people sort of gal.

I only like blackjack late at night when the tables are near empty, because I don't know it well enough to NOT piss off the serious players ("hey! you should have STAYED! that was MY Queen!") bastids...

and sometimes pai gow.

I used to be good at blackjack--but most of my friends are lame when it comes to gambling so I haven't had practice in about 12 years!

We really dig roulette as well. It's so mindless, I can attain a kind of zen state. Zen with free booze, that is.

Unfortunately, Nugget Roulette is a little expensive (for cheap me, at least). I go across the street to the Silver Club- sometimes it's cheaper, sometimes not. The only other place in Sparks with cheap Roulette is Rail City. DO NOT GO TO THIS DANGEROUS SHITHOLE. You know how Reno is packed to the teeth with parolees? Well, they hang out at Rail City. Maybe that's the wrong choice of words since most of Rail City's customers have no teeth at all.

1. I was thinking that 2 or 3 people ought to be the only ones to go the diner at the downtown nugget and get awful-awfuls for everyone- there's no way in hell that all of us will fit in there. And if you don't see it, you're not missing much. I just don't know if we can get them all back in time before they get cold. Maybe we can eat them somewhere closer?

2. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY IMITATORS. JA's Nugget in Sparks claims to have invented the awful awful, and serves it in their coffee shop, but it is a PALE imitator.

3. I know, I know- no other things on the itinerary, but if there is anyone who enjoys modern art and especially contemporary architecture, Reno's new art museum is really stunning. Believe it or not.
