I called The Hanalei [(619) 297-1101] and they will be open for Sunday Champagne Brunch that day. Normal price is $24.95 but they weren't sure yet if they are going to have a higher holiday rate.

Again -- those who are working on new events, please feel free to start a new thread. I cannot split this thread into two, and this thread should remain as a record of the NYE event at the Caliente last year.

Here is the new thread link for the San Diego event--looks like the Palm Springs event is now dead and not happening;

Sorry to revise this old thread, but if I could go back in time, I would do it all over again. Check out some of the best photos of a Tiki Central event.
Caliente Tropics......Rest In Peace. I'll miss ya.

I'm with you, Unga.
I just drove past the place today and this just makes me so sad. They did have a lot of cars in the lot, though. It looked busy.
The other day I ran across a couple of Caliente Tropics complimentary shampoo items in those cool custom bottles that you no longer see there. I also found a tiki-shaped bar of soap from Caliente. Both glamourous items from the great Casey era.
