Thanks Vern for the English Beat heads up. It turns out they're playing at Belly Up Tavern near San Diego when I'm down there on September 3rd. I'm going!

Hey Vern - Is this tour the original lineup of the English Beat, or just Dave Wakeling? I know Dave Wakeling has toured a lot with his own band, but the Beat reunited in the UK in 2003.

All I know so far is that they're playing the KROQ Inland Invasion in September out in Devore. If you want to get heat stroke.

Dave Wakeling usually calls his band Bang! or the Dave Wakeling Band, and I know he's toured with Ranking Roger as General Public, so I assume it's some form of the original band.
[edit] Uh oh, the marquee says "ENGLISH BEAT feat. DAVE WAKELING," so it means it's probably just him & his band playing English Beat songs.

DEVO were great on Thursday at H.O.B. Anaheim. Here's a pic I took. The rest came out blurry as I couldn't stand still during the show!

Some fan site listed a madness show on Thursday Sept. 20 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, but I can't find that same listing on the Troubadours site or Ticketmaster.
http://members.aol.com/themadsite/
Ticketmaster only lists the SD H.O.B. show on the 18th, Portland on the 23rd and Seattle on the 24th.

Did you go? How was it?
I decided to see them in November in Fairfax (in Marin) at 19 Broadway (where Vice Grip's Bamboo Bar is) because I missed them in San Diego last weekend (I was having too much fun at Albie's Beef Inn).

Found this tour info on MP3.com:
09-17 San Bernadino, CA - KROQ Inland Invasion
09-18 San Diego, CA - House of Blues
09-20 Los Angeles, CA Troubadour
09-21 San Francisco, CA - Bimbo's
09-23 Portland, OR - Crystal Ballroom
09-24 Seattle, WA - Fenix Underground
I would call the Troubadour club.

A friend of mine found the official Madness band site and it does not list a Troubadour show:
http://www.madness.co.uk/
I also called the Troubadour and there was no mention of a Madness show either. Guess I'll be waiting for their next tour unless I want to go to the KROQ show, though I'm not really interested in that.

Weird. It states here that they're playing the Troubadour on Tuesday:
http://www.filter-mag.com/news/interior.2582.html
Yet the Troubadour's web site shows nothing.
