I didn't know GM used the "Shaft" soundtrack to sell its cars.
Aside from producing the EV-1 and the Corvette, its probably the best idea they have had.

Hey, don't forget about the Vega! It takes a lot of engineering prowess to make a car that will stop working by just having the owner look at it!
That GM record is just plain crazy!

Hi all,
I've been goofin' off on vacation in the middle of nowhere in Maine and just got back to civilization! Hope you catch the two Jet Set Planet shows that took place while I was away.
Jet Set Planet, Program # 054- DJ SLT and Chris brought their crazy, groovy soundtrack sounds to Jet Set Planet. These guys are great!
Jet Set Planet, Program # 053
"When Worlds Collide, Part 4" - hosted by Sherwood B. Fun
Here's Sherwood's comments on the show: "On this 4th installment of WWC, we're going to concentrate on artists far closer to the modern era, obviously influenced by the first-generation hi-fi lounge-o-nauts we usually hear in this time slot."
Both can be heard in the KFAI archives. Go to http://www.kfai.org/kfai2/audarch.htm
and scroll down to Jet Set Planet.
See ya soon!

Christiki,
Actually that On a Coconut Island record was sent to me by a listener in Georgia -- the actual vinyl. And he got that deep down in some pile of records at a flea market. I think that one is probably out of print for good. The label was the same label that Vegas Vic was showcasing a few weeks ago -- 49th State Records out of Hawaii -- so if you get a chance check that out. I'll try to play some cuts off it in the coming weeks so you can hear more of it.
Thanks for listening!
