Johnny and Benjamin, thanks for checking in on me!

These canoes are really turning out nice. I'll get another picture up of the progress.

Don't think I'll do much of any work today... taking the day off to celebrate my b-day.

Hope I get some new tools.

Never mind your stuff tell me more about those end tables in your bar.

Just kidding, I love the little for the canoes they are great. the detailing that you are adding in adds a nice touch. I can't wait to see the finished product, and all the stuff you are cranking out for Foundation and this summer. Are you planning on doing any of those carving on a larger scale as stand alone Marqs and Tangs? I think you could do a lot of cool things with them. On an unrelated note we are still trying to find a way back to The Hukilau this year, but getting the time off work is a pain.

Jason,

Ahhh, the Witcos. Nothing to see here... move along.

Thanks much, I'm one step ahead of you on making those guys larger... finished up two of them last night at around 12-14" high. My wife like the little guys and thinks I should make those as stand-alones also.

Benjamin thanks... I wish lots of tools also!

Thanks Benz, keeping busy keeps me warm up here.

Updated shots on the canoes...

Thursday I start work on the oars and spears... home stretch!

Seek, Kahaka, and Howland... many thanks for your oooohs and ahhhs! Must mean I'm doing something right!

Seek, things are starting to thaw. Its been in the 40's the last few days. Still a lot of ice out there though. We had some large chunks break off the shore and float out in the lake. they were captured by satellite the other day.

Warm enough outside to try and cut a 6 foot log down the middle... Foundation Tiki Bar needs 2 half poles for their entrance.

great stuff Lake as always and an abundance of it. What kind of speed enhancing pills you on Also are the pills hallucinogenic and make you think the sun is shining and it is 80 degrees out? I need some!!!

Kahu, thanks... hopefully done this weekend!

Ken, thanks much! I think I drink too much Mountain Dew. Must be why I can't get to sleep at night.
Funny you ask about the sun being out... it is! Its not 80 degrees, but it is 53 and damn if that doesn't feel like summer! First time its been this warm since November I think.

I missed the sound and smell of the chainsaw so I fired that up in the backyard today to let the neighbors know I'm still here. Since the weather is nice I thought I'd get cooking on the half poles for Foundation Tiki Bar. I was going to pay a mill to do this but figured I'd take a crack at it.

Turned out pretty damn good! Some sanding with the angle grinder and we're good to go.

Off to carve these suckers!

Carvers everywhere! Even my back yard!

So as I have with most of the threads on this forum, I dove in headfirst and checked out the whole thing.

Your newer stuff is killer man. I'm new to this whole tiki world, but have always had a draw to it for somewhere. I also want to surf really bad, but I just stick with the "snow surfing" that is so much easier to do this time of year.

Next time I'm in Kenosha (i'm up there every couple weeks) I'll try to check out Rendezous and see the piece you did for them. I'll also have to make my way up to the tiki bar in Milwaukee sometime.

Can't wait to see new stuff from you, and hopefully I'll make it out to a show to maybe pick up a cool little tiki dude.
