I have been talking with a few peeps in SO Cal about coming out for a carving seminar with Sherry. Are there any carvers there who would be willing to pay for such a time wasting few days similar to the Coon Tiki Thing. Of Course that was not a time waster at all actually. I would love to be able to come out and meet everyone and share what little carving knowledge I have left that I haven't already given away!
Let me know if it is something we can do? Ideas? Suggestions?

Sounds interesting Ben...Would it be on a weekend?

Also I'd be quite curious about the curriculum. i.e. focus on large or small pieces. Hand or Power equipment. Methodology for making ideas into 2-D, then 3-D pieces? When to decide it's done (before your wife has divorce papers served)

Were you thinking of a lecture, or a full-on work session where people would leave not just with filled notebooks, but with finished objects?

Where in Southern Cal were you thinking?

If it's open to beginners, we would love to attend.

In fact, I'll be happy to volunteer my house for the event.

In. If it's L.A. or below, I'm there. Do we bring tools? What's the bill?

I would definitely be interested. Of course the wheres and whens would be the ultimate deciding factors for me.

If there is no specific venue, I could look into using one of the yards that a tree service that I deal with has in north Vista...
