Sure volcanic heat changing sand to glass aint no big ting on the islands, but even Pele might be hard pressed to change sand into a beautiful Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, Yellow Tang, Clown Fish or Jellyfish.

But what really makes the handblown glass of Turtle's Treasures of the Sea is special is that Turtle is also a real life oceanographer.

With our talented brudda's many ties to San Diego, we always try have some special Gecko pieces on hand for collectors.

(Gek w/Erik the Red @ Ona Tiki's 2008)

La Mariana mugs in especial blue glaze signed just for you by Geck, and available by his mighty decree no other place than the fabled Honolulu sailing club and Mission Beach's own Freaky Boutiki.

F-Yeah!

OK, we were all pretty drunk that night and I kept getting distracted by the gorgeous velvet nude of his fiancee Alie but i'm pretty sure thats how it went down, anyway... seeing is believing.

Many of the hand delivered Gecko's were gobbled up at the Tiki Farm event last month or Tiki Centralites savey enough to drop me PM wishlists, but I've still got more than a few choice goodies.

...including a triple Ku footed volcano bowl (blk w/rd lava), red speckled War God bank. Suuuuper cool!, Double Marq mug (*** signed & shaka'd by Da Geck!***), autographed Stink Eye bobble head resin and more.

Our current supply of Fire monkey Glass still include the original Bodhiglass signature millefiori. Huh? Milly for what now?

The Italian millefiori technique named for "a thousand flowers" involves the production of glass canes or rods, known as murrine, with multicolored patterns which are viewable only from the cut ends of the cane. Thin slices of cut cane (murrine) are pressed into the bead surface, forming mosaic-like patterns, while the glass is still hot. Now that you know all the insane work it takes to make a tiny millefiori, I'm sure your can imagine what goes into all the other features of these playful irresistable beads and pendants.

BTW I sold the cute purple puffer pendant yesterday so try to ignore it as a potential stocking stuffer, but I'm sure Bodhiboy will make me some more next year!

Hot stuff!! Glassblowers dig the heat. Why do you think they're all tan?

Socal surfers are well aware of Drew Brophy.

His work can be seen on everything from bikes to cellphones these days but his custom board paintings are what made this San Clemente surfer one of the worlds most sought after artists. Freaky Boutiki ohana were lucky enough to watch him handpaint an entire surfboard right in front of our shop!

The vivid prints you see are photographs of actual handpainted surfboards! Of course Freaky Boutiki has gone the extra mile to have the dry mounted on black foam core so you don't have to rush out and frame them to enjoy them!

While visiting our shop in October, our buddy Kinny Da Ruz Ruzinator Ruzic asked for a pen to doodle with while we were chatting, and before I knew it he'd customized a set of his amazing Tiki Farm mug triptic just for you!

Sold only as a set of three, EACH mug is signed, w/2007 and hand drawn tapa edging. The tapa's different on each mug! A great year end souvenir from an enigmatic artist on the rise!

Oh, did I mention there is only ONE SET OF THESE BABIES?

Hey Ho,
Nice meeting you yesterday! I still have visions of blue kava bowls dancing in my head. I don't have a proper place for this guy yet, but for now, per your request, Skull Monkey...

OnaTiki's hand carved palmwood Cook Island masks, short
and long sleeve Logo tee's, Logo drink ware and smaller handcrafted
Tapa lamps are always available at Freaky Boutiki but
isn't it time you owned a piece of tiki revival history?
Of course you do and now's your chance!

The two giants pictured below (middle and right) have hung over
the main stage at Tiki Oasis 6 above while Maikai Gents, King
Kukulele, Ape, Shag with a Twist mini show, burlesque queens and
Las Vegas Tiki magician - James Dimmare jumped and wailed... and
again above the the crown princes of tiki as they talked story at
the bar during Tiki Magazine's Tiki Island Art Show.

Cool huh? You know you want one.

Don't forget an OnaTiki mask or two!

ONA TIKI lounge logo puffer and logo tiki resin pendants.
Illustrated by Doug Horne, sculpted by Meiko and
hand painted by Moki! Lots of colors to choose from...
The Puffers may also be worn as a pin or broach.

Did you know Ona Tiki can make custom fixtures to fit your
special needs?

He designed fixture covers like the one below to meet three special Freaky Boutiki needs: Conceal ugly but necessary fluorescent rings in the front while providing directional light from the back AND to not scratch my scalp as I stalk around behind the counters

PakoloLolita & Moki are sooo silly.

**** UPDATE ****

Ona Baby gear, Adult tees for Men and Women... and Pint & Mai Tai glasses!

Everyone must certainly recognise Bosko as one of the great Aliis of worldwide tiki revival, and we are fortunate to have maintained an eight year relationship. We never know what unusual relics Truus is going to dig up for us from the Bosko vault and that's half the fun.

I'm not afraid to ask for special treats for you guys and while Truus is equally unafraid to say no... sometimes... she says yes!

I've also got Bosko's loose (unmounted) handcarved redwood masks, import mug series as well as Truus' two exotica discs.

Mahalo for supporting San Diego's rich heritage of nautical, American Poly Pop and Pacific Islander culture by purchasing with us in 2007. I know a lot of year end stockings were stuffed to the brim with handcrafted tiki goodies from Freaky Boutiki's selection of So Cal's finest tiki revival artists!

Happy New Year and don't forget watch this spot for new artist announcements, one of a kind or special edition artworks and silly photos of our lives as gen-u-ine beach traders.

Mahalo nui loa! - HodadHank & PakoloLolita
