Wonderful art coming from a former northerener. Soak up what you can from Ben you lucky soul, what a resource! Your thread is always a treat.
It was a pleasure talking to you the other night.

I just wanted to chime in and heap yet more well-deserved praise on Finkdaddy. I just received an amazing piece he carved for me (shown below), and like everyone says, photos don't do justice.
Beautiful work...keep it up!

JohnnyP, It was a pleasure to talk to you too. I'm very aware of how lucky I am to be so close to Ben!
Dr. Bamboo, Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you like it.
Benzart, The wood is beautiful, thank you!
Hewey, Thanks mate!
Tikigap, The stand was fun to make, and it's sturdy too. I like the surfboard too. I'm going to make some others I think.
Clarita, I was pleasantly surprized at how the o'pus color came out.
Here is a Bannerfish I finished today, although I didn't place the chord on it yet. I did make a mold from it, so I'll be able to cast some in it's bright, tropical colors.
I love the color that stayed in this bone
Here he is chillin' with a few of his homies
Thanks again!

Here is an order of magnets and pendants that I just put together for a TCer. Someone is going to have a very colorful fridge!

Aloha y'all! I haven't posted in a few days because I've been busy painting my resin pieces for an art walk I'm vending at this month. If anyone is in the area, I'll be vending at the Hobe Sound Stroll and Art Walk on April 28th. I'd love to see you there!
I wanted to have a couple more sea life designs, so I started on this seahorse today. It's a piece of mahogany that was a bit more firm than the stuff I've worked with so far. I like it better because it doesn't tend to break and peel as much. Lately I've been using a combo of Dremel tools and the hook knife.
I'm really itching to try a big tiki. I'm gonna have to invest in some big tools next month I think. I already have a chainsaw, so all I should need is some chisels, right? Ben, I need some lessons!
Thanks for looking everybody!
