Yep brother, I'm in Arcadia near the Santa Anita race track, but I drive for a living so thats not the hard part, it's the gas milage my truck gets thats the kick in the wallet! But come hell or high water, I'll be there! I mostly plan to meet folks, learn a few things from all of you, who I will heretofore label as "my Sensei's"

(Sensei (Sensei) is a Japanese title used to refer to or address teachers, professionals such as doctors and lawyers, politicians, clergymen, and other authority figures. It is also used to show respect to someone who has achieved a certain level of mastery in an art form or some other skill.)

That is who you folks are, and the level of respect and apprieciation I have for all of you in the way you've made me feel welcome, well, as I told Buzzy, I have a mind like a steel trap, and I don't easily forget when folks are good to me! Thanks 4wd!

Hey hiltiki, if you want, meet me at my place and we can split the gas. You could also drink to your hearts content while there, I don't drink and often times become the designated driver.

Birdman- I've carved a bit of Eucalyptus. It's rather hard, but gets really great detail. What you've got to watch out for is that Euc has a way of cracking that makes the log unusable. If your logs are fresh, I'd store them in a cool place out of the sun so they will dry slowly.

These were carved from Eucalyptus:

See ya at Babalu's!

I like those salt & pepper shakers. The wing-ding one on the left is cool!

Don't tell the other truck drivers you're one of them artsy-fartsy bohemian types, they'll rib ya something awful. Better stash the beret in your locked tool box, T-Bird. And don't let them catch you reading "Moderne Effete Artiste" or "Pastel Flower Pastiche" magazines, man, they'll never let you off. Just tell them you're carving a new beer mug if there's wood chips around.

P.S. Holy Cripes, Dav, those are Eucalyptus?!

Wow! That's one heck of a list. Biggest Chop ever?

I may need to borrow the big ass ice chest for this one.

Hey,

Well, I think I PM'ed directions to everyone...if not, let me know.

After talking with Dave on the phone last night, I realize that we may only have time to cast Cammo's "Oki Doki" and the "Man of War" mug as there will be so much going on...So, I don't think we will have time to do the "Duke of Uke" here...I'm going to put him aside...I may try to work some more on him during the Chop.

The trailer park kids are boiling over with excitement for the big day!!

Everyone is lining up at Helen's for haircuts. Gotta look our best ya know!

Ok, now I know where!! I will also be a safe driver, as I'm doing a cleanse and and can't eat or drink anything fun. I have a 2 year old daughter that I'm trying to leave with my sister for the day, so we'll see how that goes. If I brought her with me, I wouldn't be able to do much AND I'd have to leave early for nap time. Trying to build my new Tiki bar today and she wants to help........not really working out.
