Arm's arm's arm's and shoulders I'm really need some practice on them.
This guy is stretched out the arms and shoulders are alittle thin for me.
I also have a couple of noticeable chain saw cuts that
will remain upon my finish. I will have to do a dark stain?

Nice cuts there seek!
Here's a tip... you might be able to just hit that with a torch and smooth it out if you can't get in to sand it.
I've found a lazy way of sanding is to burn sometimes.
You've really got a good grasp on the body and forms.

WoaaHH! The surf tiki mojo guy came out great! Nice and smooth on the face, and the headress looks great...great design choice. I think what you did for the board is perfect. And I can't wait to see what crazy headdress you put on the new guy. Tiki got a big ol' butt!
Whats the wood on the new guy?
ps..our waves were mackin' last weekend...46' off our coast. Of course I was sick, and didn't go out...but I did score some great photography
Aloha!

Wow, nice wave. Looks like it was going off. Great shot also.
How often do you get waves of that quality?
All my carvings have been out of Alder. I have some property south of Westport, WA
on the coast this is where i get all my wood at.
Westport is WA state's surf capital we have 3 breaks that always have something
all year long. If your ever in WA you have to come camp at The Tiki Bog and get
some surf in.

I think your "Thin Man" is an Awesome looking tiki. Most tikis are WAY to Heavy and fat, Needlessly! You can ALWAYS take more off and Still have a great carving, of course you get to the point where you can't take off much more which is where you are with this guy. Use your chisels to get in there and remove the chainsaw cuts. Sanding is too difficult and burning is too Uncontrolled and you lose more real estate. The trick is to not make the deep chainsaw cut in the beginning, unless you are just doing a chainsaw piece which this is not.
He really looks great!

Benz - your input is always welcome. That chain saw is fast and easy cutting, but I have a hell of a time with the first cuts tell i see some shape. I removed alittle from
the cuts I'm going slow at it. Thanks for dropping buy.
Ben - I appreciate the support. Keep those tools safe my friend.

But remember, surfing sometimes can be dangerous.
Can´t await your update. Just looked trough your pictures a minute ago and I really like the way you brought out the teeth of the surfboard-tiki. What kind of stain and finish did you use?
