Ahoy All!
Time to stop lurking around here and share a new carving in progress.. Thought I'd try a traditional tiki this time. This lil' guy is carved from a piece of Basswood Benzart gave me a while back (Thanks again Ben!). Stands about 8 inches tall. Getting down to the nitty-gritty..
Open to any comments/suggestions for the details and finishing.. Thanks for looking!

Yeah, I have a couple suggestions:
Carve FASTER and Longer, I can't wait to see this Bad Boy! He is really looking great, Just like a little Tang Should look.

what a perfect start! nice piece o wood too. I'll be watching this as i've just started to tackle a tang, but you make it look so easy!!

Here's more progress.. Controlling the symmetry has gotten tougher in the deeper areas, but he's balancing out ok. The armpit areas were tough for sure..
