No worries Vamp!
The nice thing about that partic-u-lar brand is that it is Water Based. ( kinda like THAT awe-fool coors ligit sitting next to it. That's my better half's brand
Just remember that many THIN coats are better than one Thick coat. And, each coat takes a good 48 hours to cure. Sand between with 220 if needed. Colder temps longer cure time.
( the can always lies!!)
I suggest everyone should use it for outdoor stuff.
A cheap hOme Depot garden sprayer works well (if you thin it a bit) for applying it to thatch etc. Mix it with http://www.flamestop.com stuff too, or layer it.
I know most of you don't like glossy stuff.
I like Glossy Stuff cause it reminds me of the palm trees in the a.m. in Hawaii just after a light rain.
Also, Gloss is always the strongest. It will fade to flat over time. Flat will fade to nothing sooner.

My PSA for the year.

We should not judge a man by the length of his post

That's my favorite Cocktail as well. The Spar Varnish. Gives me the heartburn though.

Hey Ben,
Someone emailed this image to me today and I couldn't help but think what you could do with something like this baby if given lots of time and money to play with it. Let me reiterate the lots-o-money part...this guy looks like it might not even float?
So...one of you TCers out there with lots of cashola should put Ben on a project like this...it would be an over the top Tiki Bar Classic and an instant international hit!

Awesome work. The shot of you with the torch made me want to cry (it reminded me of all the meticulous work I've had to do that I didn't want to do, and for days and days I suffered miserably, wanting to escape the drudgery - then I remembered that it was just the times I had to take out the trash).
Can we all move in when you're through?

The wifey and i saw the patio project yesterday
and it looks GREAT!
First off, Around the outside of the fence
is a lush green beautiful collection of tropicalia,
The shower's coming along cool!
and the waterfall should be BAD!
the crazy layered bamboo Ben laid out for the Bar
is really a nice look/texture!
Once the ferns grow in the grotto area
and that A-frame's in place
the Chill area will be killer too!
when visiting, make sure to check out the Raratongan with a loincloth!
Very cool old Hawaiian island clock and Island chain wood sculpture in the chill area...
and some cool tikis resting on a nice mellow cabinet....
A Crazy Al tiki table....a new BBQ...
Ben's home is a museum anyway
So full of cool stuff
beautiful creations
great art and history in every corner
But the best treasure there
is Vicki !
love just flows thru that property!
and this patio project really carries his style seamlessly from inside to out!
Awesome!

Had to put my project on hold to do other peoples projects ( in the Deserts, before it got too hot, and go figure, a freak heat wave came and got up to 107!!! Then last week it was 40 at Lake powell!!! Arrrrr!!!) .
Here's one just done in Vegas.
We went with the Head Hunters Hut theme.
The home owner likes Skulls and Monsters ( and Double D's !
Crappy pics but there's quite a bit of detailed freehand routering ( skulls, monsters and Double D's) on ALL the wood.
