Hey Digitiki, thanks so much for the Spookylau episode. Even though Halloween is over, I'm still listening to it on my iPod (for the 5th time). I really enjoyed it !!
I'm gonna download the new episode later tonight.

It was an honor to hang out at the Quiet Village, and so much fun drinkin and chattin about Gilligan's Island. The Podcast turned out really good.. I loved the bumper music. I see you cut out the part where I burped into the mic, Good thing because that was very rude of me.Lets do it again real soon..kirby

Great episode !!
I really liked the alternative versions of theme songs we're already so familiar with. The Bjork version of "You Only Live Twice" is better than Nancy Sinatra's. All of my John Barry favorites were included but I think I would have added "Dawn Raid on Fort Knox".
Also I think they should re-release ALL the Bond films with a commentary track by both Joe Banks and Digitiki. That was some funny stuff !! Digitiki's Sean Connery impression sounds just like Mr. Howell.
The only thing I'm in great disagreement with is their dislike for "Diamonds are Forever" (the film not the theme song). They consider it one of the worst 3. It's my second favorite right after "Thunderball". Here's why:
1. THE classic Shirley Bassey Bond Theme (but we all agree on that).
2. One of the more clever plots in the series which leverages the "urban legend" surrounding Howard Hughes when he was holed up in the Desert Inn.
3. I thought Jill St. John was great as one of the saucier Bond Girls. Also some of the most memorable cleavage with Lana Wood (playing Plenty O'Toole).
4. Great period location shooting:
- Downtown Las Vegas in all its early 1970's glory before the canopy and Steve Wynn's horrible exterior remodeling of the Golden Nugget.
- Circus Circus when the trapeze acts were performed DIRECTLY over the casino (it was remodeled shortly afterward).
- The super cool Mid-Mod Lautner-designed Elrod house (located in Palm Springs).
I'm looking forward to Part 2.

listening now,
great Idea for a show.
I always thought that Black Sabbath's
"Never Say Die"
should have been a Jame's Bond theme.

"Is that a Tiki in your pocket or are you just happy that 'Episode 37: The Music of 007 pt 2' is now available for download?"
(Jill St. John approves of this message)

Okay, that entire 007 series is BEYOND stellar! Bravo! You guys even inspired me to attempt to make "The Vesper Martini" tonight to enjoy with my Bond film pig out night.
When I went to pick up the Lillet, there were 2 kinds, a bland and a rouge. I went with the blanc. Here goes nothing. Thanks again for the awesome tunes, info, etc...
Cheers!

The Blanc was the right choice.

Whew! Glad I chose wisely. Indeed that was a tasty drink, and a killer "2.5" episode Quiet Village series.
On a side note, a really strange thing I enjoy about the last decade of Bond films is the production company credits for United Artists at the beginning of some of the films:

I don't know, for some reason, its really exciting, like its telling the audience the film thats about to start is going to be one heck of an adventure.

Episode 41 now up! This time I did a full set of old Jackie Gleason albums. If you aren't familiar with the music of Jackie Gleason, just think "bear skin rug, champagne & a roaring fire" and you're there.

the last few podcasts have been some of my favorite. I enjoyed the bond ones but i prefer the ones with a more assortment of exotica.
