I just made my first Navy Grog via The Bum's Remixed... El Dorado 15, Appleton 12 and Cruzan aged Gold for the light rum.
Wow... I will make this one again!! Ahhh... Tropical bliss.

Nice Q! I do like Navy Grog as well. Bliss indeed.
Cheers!

Well, so far it's been a Chinese Cocktail, a Rum Ramsey, and now a Demerara Dry Float... all from Vic's '72 book.
Things are starting to get a little blurry.

Had a nice Astro Aku Aku this evening, lowered the simple syrup to a half ounce.
I'm thinking of adding a bit of orange juice to this next time to see what happens.
Cheers!
Chris

Getting in the Hukilau spirit with as close to an authentic Black Magic you'll find outside of The Mai-Kai ...
A review and ancestor recipe are in the works. Check the blog in the next day or two.

LOVE THIS THREAD! here is from a couple nights ago, was more about trying out new camera and lightbox, so drink needs work, but a mix of Myers dark, Old Mill gold, Maui silver (mix of rums aerated to round out since they are all lackluster) fresh orange, coconut water, Galliano, Canton, and a touch of honey syrup
light and dry, though as mentioned proportions needed work, a bit more orange, a bit more honey, rum total if i recall was around 3 1/2 oz, so it was a balancing act

Earlier this evening I had a mojito. It's been a long time since I've had one and it was really refreshing.
Today I bought some snifter glasses, just for black magic. Just savouring it right now and dude, this drink sure is magic.

I'm not a fan of coconut (or SUPs), but I'm digging this stuff!

My search skills (or lack thereof) don't seem to be helping. Can anyone recommend some tasty tiki drinks that include both passion fruit and mango? Juice or syrup is okay. I have both kinds of juice that need to be used up but I don't mind spending a few minutes turning them into syrup if necessary.

Hey Pouteniki,
Have you tried the Grogalizer website? You can put all your ingredients in and get a list of drink to make from The Beachbum's books. It's pretty cool.
OR... get the Tiki+ app and you can do a similar search.
Hope that helps!

Oops! I spelled it wrong... sorry. Poutineki...
I tried a Blackbeards Ghost and a Kon-tini over the weekend. The ghost was nice with a lighter flavor profile. Probably because of the OJ and Lemon juices.
The Kon-tine was outta sight!! I'll definitely have that again. Both out of The Bum's Remixed, btw.

Thanks! I'll take a look at that. I have Remixed but didn't find much in there that uses both juices. I was hoping to find something that uses both that could be batched, I'm having some people over this evening, but I'm ok with playing bartender if I need to.
