NoNaMe, no way did I mix that fine rum. It was the Appleton Estates 12 year and Myer's in the Mai Tai's last night.

I think that's why they call it a Jet Pilot, cause it gets you where you wanna go in a hurry!
One of my all time faves!!

I got a bottle of Crystal Head Vodka for Christmas this year. It's made in Canada at a distillery owned by Dan Ackroyd, and claims to be triple-filtered through "diamonds", whatever the hell difference that makes. Exceedingly cool decanter, looks great in the bar, but like every Vodka I've ever had, it tastes like grain alcohol to me. Read a couple of online reviews that claim it's got "vanilla and candy notes", but I think they're just hallucinating, under the influence of the evil Aztec skull...
In any case, I looked over some Vodka cocktail recipes in the Bum's books this afternoon, and decided to make the Hawaiian Sunset from Sippin' Safari. Pretty darn tasty, although I really need to start making my own Orgeat. The Torani syrup I'm using tastes like pure cotton candy with a hint of almond extract.

Firstly the classic Dry Demerara Float, followed by the equally amazing Navy Grog. On a Sunday night!
Thank you, thank you very much.

I started off with one of those "they can be mighty strong" Mai Tai's while watching the movie, the only time I'll put pineapple in a Mai Tai...

"The reef" out of Beachbum berrys grog log with havanna club, cointreau, fresh lime juice and alize passion fruit liquer. My first shot at a drink from the grog log and what a perfect little ray of sunshine in this cold swedish winter!

I listened to Barnacle Dave and made the Reef, very nice. I used St. James Martinique rum and I am really liking it. This is a very simple drink to make but it has a nice combination of flavors that compliment each other.
