I don't remember that tip, but I'm glad I could be of service!

Got a bottle of white Meyer’s at T O. What’s a good cocktail to use it in?
Cheers

There aren't many drinks that specifically call for a Jamaican white, but I'm sure it's perfectly fine in a Rum Barrel along with a Jamaican dark:

Great tip, mucho mahaloz!

Porpoise, Spaten Octoberfest is a favorite and Hofbrau Original is very tasty. But I just drank about 35 beers (about 5 caught my attention) so my feeling about beer right now is, blarf. Especially Belgians, which are the ones I'm burping and they aren't my favorite yeast strain. Blarf.

aloha, tikicoma

p.s, should have said sampled 35 beers (work related) I'm not crazy enough to drink that many pints, but still more than enough.

35 'work related' beers? I'm always up for new things, even samples, that sounds fun

Starting the weekend early (no reason except I started a grapefruit):

Navy Grog (with Bushmills instead of rum) - suprisingly good!

Ancient Mariner - not as good a Navy Grog but still ok

There are no pretty pictures on this page yet so I'll post last night's yummy 151 Swizzle (Hayward Tribute v.2). I need to get some Pernod in my bar to try the ancestor recipe.

Nice, relaxing evening at home with Arthur and a barrel 'o rum. I used Kohala Bay and Flor De Cana 4 year silver and i subbed pineapple for grapefruit. A tad sweet but maybe it'll mellow as some of the ice melts.

EDIT: Drink was delicious but maybe should have added a dash or two more of bitters or a some more club soda to make it perfecto. I guess I'll have to try again...

Gone the Beachcomber Grog Log
I had this at Tonga Hut (Valley)

1 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz passion fruit syrup
1/4 oz Maraschino liquor
1/4 oz sugar syrup
1oz Demerara rum
1/4 oz 151 Demerara rum

Shake everything with ice-except 151, strain into a cocktail glass, float 151 on top.
Excellent drink

Aloha Mike. FYI, The Mai-Kai will sub grapefruit for pineapple upon request. It's indeed sweeter, but extra bitters does indeed help.

Bonus tip: I haven't updated my blog yet, but it's pretty clear from all my research that the Barrel is pulse blended with crushed ice, not shaken with cubed ice as the Bum stated in Taboo Table. It's a subtle difference, but it can make for a richer and frothier drink (especially if blended in a spindle mixer).

Okole maluna!
