Had a Dark and Stormy kind of drink about a hour ago.

4 oz. Cock and Bull ginger beer
1 1/2 oz. Myers's dark
1/2 oz. Lemon Hart 151
juice of 1/2 lime
over cracked ice

I don't care for Goslings and I like a little more ginger beer so I guess it's not a real Dark and Stormy, now I just need a good name for it

aloha, tikicoma

I luv dem vintage cocktails. This one dates from the beginning 0f the last century.

Mamie Taylor

1/2 oz lime jiuce
2 oz Scotch (blended)
4-6 oz ginger beer

Squeeze lime into hiball glass filled with ice. Add Scotch, top with ginger beer and garnish with a lime wedge.
Cheers
Since I had a bottle of ginger beer opened, I made a dark and story with Skipper Rum. Pretty good.
Cheers again

Mamie Taylor is a really good cocktail. To use up a 12 ounce bottle of ginger beer I'll usually do combinations of Dark&Stormys, Mamie Taylors, and El Diablos until the ginger beer is gone. Now that I have discovered the Rum Babalu I will have to add that to the ginger beer mix too.

Sounds like a hi-octane beverage Lori. The Licor 43 is particularly intriguing.Gonna try one or two soon.

It's funny Licor 43 has been mentioned because my buddy and i whipped this up off the cuff a week or so ago and we were both quite impressed with it. Still needs a name though.

75ml Mount Gay rum
60ml Mandarin juice
30ml Pineapple juice
15ml Ginger syrup
15ml Licor 43
10ml Chartreuse
Heavy dash of The Bitter Truth aromatic bitters

Shake and strain over fresh ice.

P.S. 30ml = 1oz

Special drink tonight at The Mai-Kai in honor of the Cutback surf band's CD release party ...

The Aloha Stomp features orange and grapefruit juices with passion fruit syrup, light rum and (the special part), a floater of Lemon Hart 151.

Yes, they've still got a bunch of LH151 stashed away, and this drink may continue as an off-menu special for those in the know.
