And now from Intoxica, a Sundowner, using Cognac Salignac V.S, stretched out that lemon a little too much to get the one ounce of juice, leaving me with some bitter that should not be there

Drink of the day will be Key Lime Aid...2 parts Parrot Bay Key Lime Rum..1 part Vanilla Liquor...1 part sweet and sour mix..It's lite , refreshing and doesn't make you feel bloated. The best part is you can relax have several and still not have slurred speech...till you run out of Rum.

Aloha TI
Maybe substitute some Mount Gay silver for Parrot Bay with that recipe next time and I think it will go to the next level for ya. Cheers!

Just mixed me a little something that I haven't named, kinda been tryin to get the blend right for a while now...
3oz ginger beer (this one has Stewarts brand)
2oz Dole Pineapple juice from the can
1oz Monin coconut syrup
2oz Cruzan Single Barrel
1oz Rhum Barbancourt 8 year
Very tasty...
The Stewart's ginger beer gives it a nice "bite".
Next up will be a double Mai Tai (don't have to work tomarrow)
2oz Flor de Cana 7 year
1oz Cruzan Single Barrel
1oz Rhum Barbancourt 8 year
1oz HW Orange Curacao
1oz Fee Bros Orgeat
1oz Fresh Lime Juice
So far this is my favorite flavor of Mai Tai mixture...
I have been leaving out the simple syrup after reading here that the premade Orgeat is really just flavored syrup and I am bummed I forgetted to grab some mint when I stopped for limes.
Need to just get a plant I guess.

If you're going for the flavor of key lime in a drink the best route is to use fresh juice from actual key limes. The second best way (which pales in comparison) is to use Nellie & Joe's bottled key lime juice.

Beach Bum Scott-that sounds similar to what I've been mixing lately...But I've used cheaper rum-Cruzan Estate Dark and TV's dark rum. Also I used coconut milk. And a squeeze of Meyer/lime (my lime is next to a Meyer lemon so I get a really tasty cross!) I've been kicking around the idea of adding ginger liquour, but haven't made it back to the store to get some.
Right now I'm drinking the Mystery Gardenia from the Donn the Beachcomber book. Love that honey cream!

Ah... I slopped together a Mai Tai and it's not as good as it should be... still damn good, but you know what I mean. I squeezed a fresh lime... \I never scrimp there, and I used Sailor Jerry and Appleton's Estate V/X, that should be OK... I didn't measure very well and maybe should have used the Black Strap or maybe the Myer's...
