Blood Orange Spindrift. It obviously belongs in a large snifter, but mine seems to have grown legs and walked off.

PTPat, Please post dat recipe. I tried googling it and the only place that had it wants you to sign up before they will share it.
Blood Orange Spindrift is an intriguing name for a cocktail.

I'm afraid it's not much more than the Spindrift from a mountain of crushed ice with 2/3 of the orange juice replaced with blood orange. Still good though, particularly when blood oranges are on sale.

2 oz blood orange juice
1 oz navel orange juice
2 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz passionfruit syrup
¾ oz 1:1 sugar syrup
0.5 t vanilla extract (use homemade, vodka+vanilla bean tincture for this, the stuff from the grocery store is too bossy)
2 oz dark Jamaican rum (coruba)
1.5 oz demerara rum (skipper)
1 oz light Puerto Rican rum (cartavio silver)

Blend (or shake like mad), with 2 cups of crushed ice and pour unstrained into bucket mug or large snifter.

I've been busy working on a review of last month's epic showdown in South Beach, "The Art of Tiki," featuring nine of the top Tiki, rum and craft cocktail bars from across the country. Also in the works are recipes for two of the night's top drinks ...

Sweet Micky by The Broken Shaker (Miami Beach)

Pupule Punch by The Mai-Kai (Fort Lauderdale)

Photos are posted. Review and recipes coming tomorrow:

Mahalo Pat,I’ve had a bottle of Skipper Rum in my bar since last summer.
Also have the other ingredients so I’m gonna try one tomorrow night.
Cheers

Had a Billy’s Mule and a Hinano at Billy’s and my TikiQueen had a Mai tai. Rumor has it that they are considering introducing a variety of tiki mugs and possibly a Scorpian Bowl. Here’s a couple of pix of the mug that my Mule was served in. It’appears to be a knockoff made in China. The Mule use to be served in a “Warrior” (Maori) mug.
I’m trying to hook em up with Tiki Farm. Did you get that Holden?

the Founder's mango habanero beer was great! the 10% knocked me out, it was a bomber bottle. the first taste of each quaff is a bit too syrup sweet when it first hits your palate, like a fake mango flavor, but the habanero kicks in quickly and it balances nicely wit ha great finish.

hang10, i nabbed a bottle of that pineapple sculpin but wasnt a fan, reminded too much of the grapefruit sculpin imo, just too acidic for me.

they also had watermelon sculpin, but that didnt sound appetizing, have you had it?

It's been a hard weekend working on the tiki room here, I've just got enough energy for something to unwind:

Cheers!
