Rum Barrel, Lapu Lapu, Dark-n-Stormy, Light-n-Sunny, (I beleieve those are the last two.) They also put chicken and fish tacos on the appetizer menu, and a shrimp with a sweet and spicy ginger type sauce. There might be something else on there that i can't remember, but I tried the Rum Barrel, Lapu Lapu, fish taco, shrimp taco and popcorn shrimp and they were all REALLY good.

good way to extend the weekend.

I've become a huge proprieter of the whole "support Don the Beachcomber" thing. Can't let this place slip this time. Make any bad memories of this place kick rocks... It's so much better than it was in the past, and gets better every time I go. I'll be there tonight at 7ish with some folks. I'm glad Jeff got this thread rollin a while back; it seems to have made some believers.

maybe more but I forget.

yeah me too.
The Hot Buttered Rum at Tiki Ti and Taix are good,
but the new one at Don's blows them away.
so much darker and richer.
I think I remember Marie saying that she made the Butter batter from scratch.
Kudos Marie,
you knocked it outta the park on that one.

I was there tonight and it was good. I really wanted to try the Rum Barrel but a 4.5 shot drink is probably too stiff for the long drive back to Samo. The last time I had both a Zombie and a Navy Grog and that was definitely too much.
Marie showed me the new DTBC coconut-style mug they'll be introducing. She's not sure what new concoction it will hold. Probably something coconuty.
I still need to try the Missionary's Downfall and Dr. Funk. Anyone had these and care to comment?

I was there representing. In by 5:30pm, out by 7:00pm. Here's my drink review:
1. Missionary's Downfall - I usually don't drink this but I wanted to check it off my list. This is probably one of the better MD's I've had. This is a good drink for people who don't like to drink. It's a like a rum slushie. Highly recommended to get that "special someone" tea totaller drunk.
2. Dr. Funk - This rum-based drink is very different from the Tiki-Ti gin-based drink. It has more of sour taste than a dry licorice taste. I really really enjoyed this. It goes to the top of my list along with the DTBC Navy Grog and Zombie.
Also thumbs up on the pupus. Happy Hour (50% off) here is Tiki Nirvana. It's a fantastic deal (don't forget to tip 40%).
I kept wanting to order the teriyaki. Oh wait, that sign says Tikiyaki.
Marie (and Mike) nail it again !

Man, I feel like I should make my own thread called "Thursday Nights at Don The Beachcomber"! I'll be there tonight, and I plan on having a splendid time, as always.
