So some personal stuff has sidelined me for a couple of months but Im crawling back up. First of all I
want to thank everyone for the nice comments on my thread lately and a huge mahalo to everyone at the tikiyaki
show in palo alto. Holy Shit what a fun show! When I get some more time I have some pics of the show. I sold some stuff and
had a killer time vending. Eric Octobers Islander painting was the bomb. Notch"s redwood war clubs were off the hook and swinging,
tiki kaimukis mugs were sick, jungle traders tikis were awesome and I picked up one of tiki kings sweet pendants. what a night!
Thank you Otto, Rum Runner, Kahaka, Murphdog and leleliz for buying my stuff. MUCH LOVE!!! And of course thank you Tikiyaki for rockin the house!
I havent been doing much lately but I have been dropping in to read tc. it still brightens my day to peak in and see new art and read the latest.
so browsing brad parkers thread I saw he was accepted in the la luz group show. Ive tried to get in the show in years past to no avail, but this year
I have been accepted with my grommies painting. Holy Crap I dont believe it. So Brad A huge hug and thanks for the reminder. I would have forgotten.
I will see you there on Friday.
So instead of paying for shipping I decided to just pack up and come down for the show. If anybody is in the hood come by and say hello.
I got in sunday night and met eric and manuel at the Tonga Hut and chilled after the drive. Eric, Manuel, Grog, Hiphipahula, Jeremy, and Marty thanks for the fun. Also thank you chadzilla for picking up a Irwin mug. The Tonga Hut is so sweet! Today I dropped off my painting at la luz and met billy shire. Pretty cool! Too many cool books and not enough money. Today (monday) I meet the Mysterious Ken Ruzic in his hut in Orange. I hope I can survive the onslaught of crazy art bombardment. for you see, I have a very small brain. Whoa....this entrie is kinda bloggie. Anyway Ill have more coming soon.
here is an ok pic of the grommies painting for the La luz show.

It is seriously not fair that someone else has the Barrel & Sufferin' Bob mugs........I lose sleep at night over this mere fact. They are superb!
Love my Bob mug and I thank you for saving one for me to purchase.
Hopefully look forward to owning a Bob velvet someday as well
I heart MP!

Empee RULES!
Thanks again for spending so much time at the BatCave/Studio of Solitude and art-jammin last week!
You have a great brain and massive talent!
What a Blast!
AND the boy showed me some sketcharoonies of
some future projects that will
BLOW YOUR DOORS OFF!
Also worked on an octopus/auto collaboration piece for up North
with the man of the hour...
FUN! FUN!
Looking forward to when next we JAM!!!!
One Last Thing...
this is an open plea to any fans/admirers of empee
to buy and send him an acid-free hard-bound SKETCHBOOK!
(and the complete Family Guy DVDs)
too many pretty drawerins to keep all scrambled in a loose pile!
Not as bad as BigToe's sketchbook/junkpile
but Toeman has spent YEARS perfecting it
and his moustachio...

Thanks Zerostreet, Liz and Kinster.
Here is "Kennies Kobrah Koop" all touched up and ready for
its new home with Kahaka and Tanya. This was the color study for
kennies trade painting. I slapped it down on wood, added a couple
more layers of paint and threw it into a frame.
