Howdy Everyone, Ive had my head down all year working, parenting, and squeaking out
some art whenever I can. Now with oasis over Ive got some time to breathe. I have a
lot to post. I want to start with a trade mug for BigToe. He hooked me up with
some sweet Toe goodies at Bens garage sale and this is my end of the bargain. A
modified "Irwin" skull mug that I am really pleased with.
Here are some progress shots and some photo fun.
I brought the skull up higher and recarved the whole mug.
Bisque shot.
Finished with antique pewter glaze and food-safe
black glaze on the inside.
Some fun shots.
Enjoy BigToe!!!
More coming soon.

Beautiful sculpt, great glaze, & very cool photography. Seems sometimes it's harder to get a decent pic than it is to make the mug

Bowana, Babalu, Thanks for the compliments. It was awesome chillin with you fellas in
the alley! Always good to see the treasure up close! Hangn with the likes of Bowana,
Babalu, Tobunga, Kirby and Vantiki has left me inspired and charged to get to some new work.
Kenster!!!! Thanks for buyn up a bastard bling plaque at the alley.
You're the best! Now you be nice. You and Liz need to hug it out.
Are you still up for a velvet shrunken head/kinny hut trade?
Thanks ZeroStreet, antique pewter is an awesome glaze. When in doubt, paint it black!
Here are some shots of the Maori Monster Mug. I donated this little mug to the
Tiki-Cate auction at Oasis.
I sat down with some clay one day and tried to create a Maori head without
reference. What I ended up with is a little upside-down monster mug.
At first he had legs but I didnt use sand under his feet in the kiln
and they cracked
His head still lives!!!!!
I used Iron oxides on the outside and food safe
lo-fire toffee glaze on the inside.
Im not sure who won this little guy, but I hope he or she
is enjoying him.
More to come.
