Can't hardly wait to see that pork!!

I had a can of kippers for dinner. Then much later I made a quesadilla with TJoe's corn tortilla,
PEPPER JACK, fresh tomato slices, sea salt, chopped black olives and Mrs. Renfro's salsa.
It was dang tasty! On occasion I've made all the parts from scratch, but tonite was Look in the Fridge
and concoct. We call that Snack Mastery around here, and if a particularly satisfying dish results, that
person has earned the temporary title of "Snax Masterson".

Did I already tell you that?

ATP, that Char Siu BBQ Pork sounds good - is that the red dyed pork they serve in Chinese Restaurants with the star anise flavor?

Amy, at first read through I thought you put the kippers in the quesadilla That would be interesting!

My ex-husband is the Original CA Quesadilla King. He taught me to appreciate all sorts of ridiculous things on a tortilla
with PEPPERJACK and salsa....I DID consider the kippers, to be honest.

MDM,
I don't use that red dye #6 recipe that you get at alot of Chinese restaurants
I will give you my own version,

I use a quality brand Char Sui BBQ sauce (Plum BBQ Sauce) from my local Asian Market, 4 to 5 Tablespoons
3 cloves fine chopped fresh Garlic
3 Teaspoons fresh chopped Ginger
3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon Sesame oil
Cracked Pepper & Kosher salt to taste
Sesame seeds to add at cooking time

2 to 4 Pork Tenderloins (or more if your feeding alot of people, adjust marinade for larger amounts of meat)

add all ingredients in a Tupperware or glass container with a lid
Stir well & add Pork, be sure to coat the meat fully
Cover the dish & place in the refrigerator 24 to 48 hours (you have to plan this dish a day or two in advance)

Cooking Day- preheat oven to 350 degrees sprinkle some Sesame seeds on the Pork Tenderloins
Place the Pork on a wire rack sitting on an oven pan, you may want to place aluminium foil on the bottom of the pan for easy cleanup.
Cook for 40 to 45 minutes ( depends on your oven)

Remove Tenderloins from oven and let rest for 10 to 15 minutes, Slice thin and serve with your favorite Asian or Island side dish

I use this on my Coconut Rice, Vietnamese Pho, Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwiches, Fried Rice & most Chinese dishes I make.

I will post the results later.

So what do you guys think of the "Dinner & a Movie" theme?

It could work like this, Post a meal with pictures & watch a movie & post a little discription of the movie or a mini review?
No time frame or other requirements, just a little change of pace to make things more interesting?

Just do a link to the movie's IMDb page, your own review, shoot some pics and give us the quick & simple recipes. No rules, if it's a cheesy quickly turned out movie, cook appropriately;

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0565564/

If it's a dignified art house classic, we expect home grown herbs, candles and seasonal wine;

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040725/

I'm in, but lets all do it on the same night (a weekend?) . . .
