The Shadow! Love it! Oh YEAH! One of my VERY favorite mystery men! I am SOOOOO into your vibe of Tiki and Vintage Pulp!! I GROCK you baby! Keep making the amazing super great underground low-brow art! I know there is a connection to that era of mystery / noir action and tiki lounges and Tikis! I am thrilled that you are exploring the same stuff I dig! U RAWK!

Thanks Wendy and Brad! The 2 do seem to go together very well! Funny you posted this when you did, I just completed the first of (what i hope is several) faux pulp "books" featuring my more pulpy paintings. I had been thinking of this for some time, and then our own Maddog Mike mentioned the books at Michael's....and now here's the first! I hope to get a few done before Hukilau. By the way these are archival ink prints on acid free cotton paper that I then adhere to the book using gel medium, then I do some distressing.

That's fantastic. That's the perfect delivery for a ton of your pieces.

Thanks Greg! Appreciate the words!

Even though I have many things going on, the idea I have for my Tiki Oasis piece kept calling me....so I started it a bit ahead of schedule. Here's what I have so for.

THE NIGHT OF THE AMBER TIKI

The book cover is fantastic. I hope there are plans to market these. I know I want one as I have a teenage niece I never am able to buy for. However, she loves to sketch and journal. This would be perfect.

The new painting is a great idea. I'm look forward to see it develop.

Thanks dartharnie and Wendy! These books will be for sale, I haven't figured it pricing yet. However this are not an actual book. It is more a box really, and the cover is the lid. These are intended to be displayed, much like my painted cigar boxes, on a shelf or in a custom frame.

Thanks!

No rest for the wicked! (Actually I'm going to bed now ) Here's the second "book" cover:

The title on this one was inspired by TikiTomD's post about Sacrifices to Ku. I'll be pasting this one tomorrow.

Excellent! The inside of the book is a secret compartment for hiding stuff. But you are supossed to pick a BORING cover for a secret compartment book. With a cover that intriguing, everyone will open it and try to read it!

Robert, with my luck, opening the cover of Mysteries by Moonlight will bring me face to face with the Mu (“body catcher”) or even worse, Ku-waha-ilo (“Ku of the maggot-dropping mouth”), just what I need as imagery to prepare for a sound night's sleep...

Robert!
Loving your pulp fiction covers! I love classic pulp fiction and old radio shows... Great stuff.

Ever consider incorporating the Phantom? I know he seemed to spend his time in African jungles but perhaps he made his way to PNG or somewhere in the a south Pacific?

Blessings, bro... Keep painting!

Peace,
Jason
