Way to go! GROG need you to come down and help GROG clean greenware and glaze.
Good luck with your bisque firing, but it should be fine.

Morning Wendy,
There are no rules in stacking shelves up in a kiln, however, it is good to keep them away from the sides of the kiln, as you have done here. If when you jiggle your set up here, and it does not feel too tipsy, then you are most likely fine.
My personal choice is to stack my shelves up as shown below...seems to be a little more sturdy to me.
Fire it up!

Hi Babalu, Wow, super fast reply. I was going to give you three more minutes and then I was going to call. I need to buy more of the same height posts so I can do it better when I glaze. It will take two loads to get that done. I'm so happy to be keeping on schedule. I'm very hopeful that I'll get them done.
Hi Grog, it's good to hear from two ceramicists that it will work. Tonight I fire!
Thanks so much, Wendy

All I can say is wow. I had no idea that there was so much work involved in the making of a mug. I'll never complain about the cost again.
Wendy is my hero! Golf clap for Dan too.

Gosh, thank you for all the wonderful messages. It's time for an update. I fired for 12.5 hours. I left the areovent running to help with the cool down but it still took 25 hours for it to get to 125 degrees so I could open the lid. I had also put into the kiln 50 glaze test (L shaped) strips. I unloaded them and both mugs and strips were fine.
Because I had put dusty strips on them I had to use the air compressor to blow off the dust again. See that frown, that's why I usually have tape between my eyebrows when I work. It reminds me to not frown.
The next step was to read the instructions for the respirator. Wax Resist calls for a respirator rather than a mask.
Not a fun thing to wear!
I was able to paint all of the mugs bottom rims. Near the end I did paint one top in error. I scrapped off the wax and then sanded until I was down to clean bisqued clay again.
All 50 done. Glazing starts tomorrow!
Now Dan and I are taking mom to the zoo. Cheers, Wendy

Yay!
I never wear a mask for anything...that must be the reason? :-)
Don't glaze all of those kiddo. Test fire one, or two of them. ^06 or ^05 - med speed - 7.5 hours.
Test, test, test everything.
