Tiki Oasis 11 is right around the corner and I am happy to announce that we have a stellar entertainment lineup.
We all know that Exotica music - the cornerstone of Tiki - owes a lot to our brethren to the south - Mexico and Latin America. In fact Latin music has always been a rich part of American popular culture from Cha Cha and Merengue to Mambo kings, Latin Jazz to Rock En Espanol. But North America's embracing of Latin music piqued in the mid-1960s with the debonnaire, Latin-styled trumpet player Herb Alpert and his Tijuana Brass band. It is this romanticized Mexico that we seek to celebrate this year at Tiki Oasis!

* Don Tiki - first west coast appearance ever

* "HERB" a tribute to Herb Alpert

* Big Sandy & Los Straightjackets - a rare appearance together en Espanol!

* Mark & The Escorts - orig 1960s East L.A. Latin sounds
* Latin tinged Exotica from Tiki Joe's Ocean (Seattle) in their first ever live show including an all-star cast
* King Kukulele
* Marty Lush & his Latin Livers - words cannot describe this act fronted by the man, the myth, the legend that is Marty Lush
* Orchestra Superstring - with a fresh new CD out, DJ Bonebrake's Latin jazz sextet is sure to thrill you
* Frankie's Baja Marimba Mania
* Surfer Joe & his Boss Combo (Italy) traditional 1960s Surf sounds from former Wadadli Riders
*The Hula Girls
* Creepxotica
* Jason Lee & the RIP Tides
* Tiki King
and an All-Star DJ line up from around the country
va para el rock!

Quit talking about hotel rooms and tickets!
Can't you see there are awesome bands playing!?!?
That's not all, I am still working on the classic performers!
best live music line up ever!!
I can't guarantee that the female Lucha wrestlers will appear again this year but trust me - there will be some mayhem

I'm pretty excited to see Tiki Joe's Ocean in the line-up. I love the records; the music should sound pretty good live.

ps: Is there a "have Ape play again" list I can sign?

I just told my tow-truck driver about Oasis.
My battery ran down, I needed a jump, called the Auto Club and 10 minutes later a hepcat with tats up one arm (and only one arm) (what's with that?) turned up in a HUGE tow truck. The battery juiced up no problem and I ended up telling him all about Oasis. He's coming. His name is Hopper.
