Wow, the interest in this event has exceeded my original Tiki expectations. We look to have over 40 people. I've updated the crawl list on Page 1.
Because this is about twice the number I was originally planning for, I've decided to swap out my mid-century dive bar choice with another destination. Instead we'll be visiting the Figueroa Hotel's Moroccan-themed lounge.
Not only is this much closer to Trader Vic's, it probably fits in better with Tiki's exotica aesthetic. The Figueroa Hotel itself is quite historic, having opened in 1925 as a YMCA residence. It's also purported to be haunted.

Speak now (post or PM me) or forever hold your peace.
I'm going to close out the guest list soon, which you'll need to be on for Crawl stop #1 (otherwise you may be on the hook to pay a membership fee).
Also the crawl now starts at 6pm. I'll send out an email with the logistics later this weekend.

Emails have been sent. See you this Saturday. Again we start at 6pm (not 7pm).
We'll toast to the memory of Mike Adler.

The Hotel Figueroa has rooms still available! It will be nice to crawl then take an elevator instead of driving home!

Some people have been asking me if there's a dress code at Cana, our first bar. I was told by the Events Manager there was, but it doesn't apply to those wearing Tiki/Aloha wear.
That said, I would strongly discourage wearing shorts (I know some of you may not own long pants. Ha Ha)
Also they've offered to provide a custom drink menu just for us. Knowing most of the people on the Crawl, I'm assuming Tropicals (or variations of) would be the preferred libations.
Right ??

Yes, tropicals would be my choice, can't wait to see what they will come up with for a special menu!
