Still not sure who composed the Spider-Man jazz though.
Is this all really "Crime Jazz" though ?? Sharp horn riffs set against action sequences always evoke that musical genre for me, even it it's for cartoon superheros.

John O,
I think Ran, aka (Kick the Reverb) knows the answer,
and has a cd of a bunch of that music.
I'll ask him to chime in here.

The first season of the animated Spiderman show had original music by Ray Ellis. Original sound track recordings do not exist. A rock band named the Amazing Spider Band recorded an album with covers for those tunes.
The second and third seasons used cheaper production library music, mostly from KPM/APM.
There is a whole Yahoo group dedicated to this music:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/spidey-jazz/
On that group profh0011 is the guy to contact about a compilation CD containing all the known tunes.

A entire discussion group dedicated to the background music of a 1960's cartoon ?? !! I love it. Thanks Ran.
Spy-tiki I think you should add a new category to your amazing website...
You can call it SPY-der Man music. Ha, ha.
(FYI, TC's own spy-tiki is yet more evidence of the connection between Spy culture and Tiki culture).

Forgot to reply to this yesterday.
Paul Johnson of the Belairs was asked about Mr. Moto and where that name came from.
he said it was a 3 part correct answer.
1. Mr. Moto the spy was around that time.
2. There was also a wrestling character that went by that name.
3. and last but not least, but only slightly connected.
there is the surf stance the Quasi-moto

A friend of Jonpaul and I, who lives in Australia
just sent me a e-mail saying he and his wife are planning on
flying to So. Cal. to come to Tiki Oasis and SG101 convention.
Love it when people go Hard Core like that!

Notice the ironic ticket stub number: Secret Agent #000007. That number justifies a spy reference to be able to make a post here.
What, no "Gigantor" for John-O?

Or "You Drive Me Ape" for me? I think they also had a song about Flinstones and Bedrock. (It looks like these guys are around.)

Rum Dog... less monkey, more Eurospy. More cheesecake !!
"Get the point ?" (as Lancelot Link quiped in the feature "MonkeyBall").
And as highlighted in the Eurospy film featuring proto-Bond fictional character Bulldog Drummond.
Sadly a forgotten literary figure these days.
