TikiShaker,

Nice ad. Would be great to see a close-up of that A-frame hut.

Here is another ad.

Tiki Shaker,

Great stuff, thanks for that blow up of the stage area and tikis. Here is another matchbook type.

I just got this postcard from the Bali Hai. It shows a fairly large thatched hut structure extending off the side of the main building that I never noticed in the other photos.

Also saw this unusual multi-colored matchbook on ebay a while back.

I think it looks like a red one sun faded in spots. It reminds me of record collections with the spines a lightened color from sun bleaching over the years. Maybe red spots were where it was covered by something, like maybe other matchbooks in a jar while the sun shone on it.

Here's a real yellow one not posted here yet:

And another colorful one:

This one must have been from back in the age of aquarius.

Buzzy Out!

For you archivists out there, here's a clearer scan of one that DC posted earlier:

And another one I didn't see here, the double goof on the roof -same on both sides one:

A picture of the Bali Hai before it became the Bali Hai. As noted on the photograph, this is the Hut on Shelter Island in 1954.
