THe garz yeah, it can be a bit dangerous, and now that its cooled down a little, I wear shoes, The chiki tiki thought I was a bit off when he heard I was carving with the flip flops. Ben, no, I havent used any of those skinny chain bars yet, I imagine I'll get one someday, but I'm amazed what those cheepy $39 14" Home Depot "limb n trim"s will do. 8bitmagic, I've got the deck shoes, and aviator glasses on my shopping list, and yes, I have tried using a machete, but it was only $1.99 and it wouldn't even cut a rug, let alone a palm. Maybe a well sharpened machete will do the trick, I'll try that.

Tony, I was at the Rip Curl shop in Santa Monica (3rd St Prom) yesterday and saw one of your tikis in there. Very cool stuff. How old is that one? The teenies who worked there didn't know anything about it...

TikiTony - your stuff is most excellent. I love your drawings. Especially the Easter Island head w/pirate ship in the background. Pirates and Tikis! That's what I'm talkin' about!

Your lamps are very creative too, your style is all your own! Keep posting your stuff and (thanks to Poly-pop) I'll have to check out your tiki at rip curl!

Hey hey Poly pop, The one on the floor was made in Dec. 2003, he started off an Andre Bumatay, then he turned out to be a funky Marquesan. The Moai on top of the sunglasses case is also from Dec. 2003. Those were the last 2 Tikis I carved for the year 2003, and that was basically my first year of serious carving, although my first tiki made was in '98 when I wanted to produce "dash Dieties" hula tikis with LED lights for eyes. It took me 5 years to actually make one though.
Polynesiac, thanks for the props, pirates and tiki is a goOd combo, I wish it was the 3rd combo at In n Out!

Hey bongo, I meant to tell you that I haden't forgotten about that. I don't have any assembled, because the prototype that I was going to give you broke when I was.... I can't even remember how that tiki broke, but I have all the parts to put in a new one for you. The 70 I made for Cal Tech never even got put together by the Cal Tech assemblers, so there's a drawer in Pasadena with 65 tiki necklaces with hollowed out eyes and no led's. so sad. I was gonna call you on the tiki transporter, I might be calling on you this week! thanks friend.

TikiTony, I been thinkin about lighting up the eyes of some of my tikis. Where did you get the led's and what voltage were they. Do you have any specs you can share? I'll need battery holder, led /socket and an on-off switch. Any help would be great
Thanks brah

Hey Benzanator, I sent you an email. I forgot to tell you, no need for battery holder, it takes up too much room, just salder the wires to the battery, just try not to touch the iron to the battery, yikes! I'll post a diagram here when I get the time!
