Hello, my name is Bjorn Hughes.
I am half Danish and half English. I am a designer by day and a Bar-tender/Bar-Manager by night.
Found my way on here through a link posted on the forum at
www.cocktailshows.com
Already read through a bunch of stuff on this site which I found really interesting so I thought I'd sign myself up.
Anyways, Hello all!

And now, introducing me.
I'm new to this forum too and was first introduced to Hula's a few days ago. I felt very much at home, surrounded by the tiki culture. I support the first nation of Hawaii and play the music and sing the songs and have Hawaii in my heart. I like this tiki culture also. This should be fun!

Aloha and mahalo for the great feedback that so many are leaving for the Caliente Tropics. I thought I would personally introduce myself as my husband has done for me in the past. I am Christine Piazza Assistant General Manager of the Caliente Tropics. I hope that if any of you have any questions or comments that you will personally direct them to me. I am currently working on some big projects to renovate the appearance, not to undermine the tiki theme but to give it more attention.

Thanks Everyone
Mele Kalikimaka

Hi Everyone. I need your help here. In the 1960's, in London, I heard a version of Quiet Village and the guy with the album told me it was called "Experiments in String and Percussion" on the Time Oreol label. I just can't track this down. Can anyone help???? Much appreciated - Martin.

Hello from Cape Cod... I'm a person that really enjoys the poly-pop environment and am surprised to see so many others with a similar affliction. I have practiced as a Designer-Goldsmith for 27 years. I look forward to enjoying what this site has to offer. Steve

Aloha! I am new to this forum, which I discovered very recently via a link on the website of Tiki Magazine (www.tikimag.com). I am an artist with a focus on tropical scenes and tiki bars; my niece bought the magazine for me for Christmas, thinking I would enjoy the images. I did, but the must fun I had was reading the biography of Trader Vic!

I've always loved tiki and tropical bars, but never knew there was a tiki tribe out there until reading Tiki Magazine. I look forward to lurking here, and hope to occasionally contribute.

Maholo for having me!

GreenWoman

Hello folks! I'm new here and have been reading through the forums a bit--great stuff here!

I'm from Hawaii originally (Honolulu--Kalihi, to be specific), recently transplanted to Portland, Oregon. Naturally I'm hoping someone can point me to a decent tiki themed bar or restaurant around the Portland area. Preferably one that's not overly crowded.

Anyone familiar with the area?
