Sweet tiki. I went there a few months ago and of course , no camera. You look out the window and there are three tiki, one being the above photo, in the water. Two tikis flank the door. Very nice design with bits of color and are weathered. And more tikis inside. The food was awesome. I got the full rack of ribs.
The place is called the Sandy Hook and its in a big fishing area. I heard that the fishing was some of the best (ever).

Thanks Teakey,
My girlfriend took this picture for me but evidently didn't get the two at the door. Lol
Thanks for the name and what island is this on? She couldn't remember

Tiki Island above The Silverlake? (I do that sometimes too when I wake up on Saturday mornings) The real question is how did you get in that cage.

I am at THIS urban jungle, where Tigers roam...
This shell of a Tiki is hidden next to one of the entrances/exits to the AVIARY at the L.A. ZOO.
With it's palm core rotted out, it must have fallen over, and some Zoo worker who does not relate to Oceanic art propped it up upside down so it can stand on its own:
Its style reminds me of Ed Crissman's Tikis for The Tropics. It probably had a palm root hairdo when new. The cool wrap-around mouth is based on Tahitian/Marquesan design.

Just an innocent box of candy. Look at it at an angle and a tiki looks back at you.
