Monkeys? Gotta be the backup singers in Tony Bennett's "In the Middle of an Island". How's that for obscure?

Cheers!

Devo - Jocko Homo
"Monkey men all
In business suit
Teachers and critics
All dance the poot
Are we not men?
We are devo!
Are we not men?
D-e-v-o
God made man
But he used the monkey to do it
Apes in the plan
We’re all here to prove it
I can walk like an ape
Talk like an ape
I can do what a monkey can do
God made man
But a monkey supplied the glue
We must repeat
O.k. let’s go!"
Trader Woody

Love Monkey #9 by Bootsauce from the Album "Bull"
Just remembered this one yesterday when hearing Chilli Pepper's "Love Rollercoaster", I was thinking of how much more I liked Bootsauce's version of that song, from the same album.

Don't They Might be Giants have a dozen or more songs about Dr. Zarius & the Planet of the Apes? On just the album "Severe Tire Damage" there's: "The Planet of the Apes," "Return to the Planet of the Apes," "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes," "Escape from the Planet of the Apes," "Battle for the Planet of the Apes," "Beneath the Planet of the Apes," and "This Ape's for You."

Jungle Fever by The Tornados (of Telstar fame). Maybe somebody should do a cover of this one at Goin' Primitive.
