I was at a cool bar in Oakland called Baggy's By the Lake near Lake Merritt at 288 E 18th St in Oakland (510-763-5721)and noticed that they are having a hawaiian party this Saturday from 1pm on with ROasted Pig and Hawaiian Music (I don't know if the music is live). "Dress in Hawaiian attire". Might be a fun thing to do if you have the afternoon off. I don't expect this to bwe the best event you have ever gone to so you may not want to drive a hundred miles to go here-but if you are in the general area, why not? Also at 6 pm a block and a half away Aquazombie is showing the movie Gun Crazy (1949) at the Parkway Movie Theatre as part of his Film Noir Series so go early for a couple drinks and then head over to a $5 movie.
