Description:
There is a new \"contemporary\" tiki bar at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Lots of tribal-like masks backlit with artificial fire behind the bar. It has a tropical drink menu with about 12 drinks (most are $10). All that I have had have been good. It does not have any Exotica music, only a cover band that plays pop music. To put a visual image in your head, imagine a tiki bar that was designed by Dwell Magazine. Overall I like it. If you sit away from the band, you can listen to the waterfalls. If anyone wants to meet for a drink sometime, let me know, I live here.

I had the pleasure of chilling out there after an evening on the town and loved the ambience, although it is a little more exotic than tiki.
The lush greenery, the sounds of splashing water from the waterfall, the tribal art and comforable chairs illuminated by votive candlelight created a very exotic effect.
True, a little more tiki would be in order, but AVA emits a very good vibe.
