Nice find David. Love the cover but i'm not sure what the link is between the London Aquarium and moai's is.

| I didn't see a connection either but I know of your interest in aquarium stuff and all things tiki.
That's the main reason for the post.
Cheers

I finally found a canoe I could afford and looked cool.
Somebody is selling the same canoe on eBay. It's $230 more than I paid for mine.

Two weeks time, doing six days of the swapmeet, one Goodwill grand opening morning(#97 in line), and the new San Diego vintage flea market had this pile of stuff for me:
Brand spanking new metal Primo sign
The guy I bought this from laughed at me after I paid for it because he said he got it for free from his friend. I laughed back at him and told him to look it up on ebay and see how much more money I was going to make than he was off of it. I had a hassle with the same guy two days earlier over another item. He pulled the "I don't know what I want to sell it for, how much is it worth to you?" routine and I pulled the throw the item down on the ground, walk away briskly while yelling "I don't do appraisals!" in absolute disgust routine. I probably won't get a good price from him again.
Coco Joe's tagged monster leaf ashtray, Bali Hai ashtray, Club Tradewinds ashtray, Kahiki, Bali Hai, and Kelbo's matches
A headhunter couple:
Two tiki candles and a Maui 2000 carving
Coco Joe's Menehune and a HIP god of wisdom pendant
Hula Mug, Rasta Mug, and a pair of S+P shakers
I overpaid for the S+P shakers($2!), but I was all caught up in the excitement of the Goodwill Grand Opening. I made it up on a $20 guitar, which turns out is worth a bit more than that, a few moments later.
Non tiki crossover stuff: Buzz's Daga mug(gift from Gavin), trio of 1959 shriners Chicago glasses, and a Squid Skull stack Tfarm mug
Art survey book and Bulldog scrapbook
The scrapbook was from a Poway couple who went all over the country in 1963 to enter their bulldog in a bunch of dog shows. One of the shows was in Arizona(They won!), and they stayed at a place called the Tahiti Inn. Here are the pages with the Best Western Tahiti Inn stuff:
And another page had this ad for a Tiki salon in Poway:

Hey Buzzy Your stories are getting more and more amusing -really quite enjoyable and funny. You should consider writing full time. That's it Buzzy. Write full time, give up the hunt and leave some for us.
Nice finds congrats!
David
Btw, when my brother tikivato is asked to "make me an offer" he'll offer em a buck.

I found these last weekend at a thrift store here in Boston.
They were $2 apiece and I am physically unable to resist thrift store tiki mugs.
Can't identify them, but they are sure gonna go in my collection for now.

I just got this from ebay. The marking says Quyle Kilns, which is located in Murphys, CA. Not quite sure if it is "tiki", but I really like the glaze, shape and size, so it's in my collection now.

Good find - never seen this before! The glaze looks so modern, almost like MunkTiki. But since the kiln has been around since 1954, it should be vintage. You should contact them, maybe you'll find out the name and year: http://quylekilns.com
