Found this yesterday and it kinda reminded me of the "missing" Hobby City Tikis.

Hey BB,
Up early for a Sunday?
How big is that bank?
THe pic by bigbro reminded me of the many times I picked my son up at Adventure City-He worked there as a teenager and in front of the tiki's was a good place to rendezvous.
Cheers,
David

Hi David,
The front of the bank is 3-3/8", the sides are 2-1/4" and it's 3-3/4" tall.

I like the bank too.
Goodwill finds. Both are so dark it was hard to get a good picture of them.

Found at a thrift store.
Picked it up and put it down several times before I finally decided it would "fit" into my tiki lounge. It's an 18"x18" tapa sewn onto woven palm. The Honu's shell rises from the center of the piece about 2".
Cheers

....in "Loveland, Colorado", no less. Score! I say. Wonder if they actually had the mold, or if they were selling dead stock. Here's a pic of me posing with its father:

Nice find!
Here's what I turned up with a quick search on the company:
"Rocky Mountain Pottery Company (ROMCO) was founded by Leland Huston in 1953 and moved to Loveland in 1957. The firm's first pottery pieces were produced to resemble wood grain and included a pine scent. Many pottery designs were produced, but its most popular line remained the wood-grained design, along with the various colors of its hand-painted pinecone line. During summers, the Loveland factory employed 35 to 40 people and offered daily tours. Two regional outlets sold ROMCO pottery during summer seasons, including one in downtown Estes Park and one in Colorado Springs. The company was sold in 1981, then again in 1986, at which time the original business came to an end."
So they were making ceramics in the 50s, despite the modern look of the foil sticker. Still, it's an intriguing mystery.

Too much crappy, used, dirty, Christmas decorations out there that took up way too much valuable swapmeet space. Resulting small tiki related lot found:
A Kon Tiki oil table lamp(as seen in Tiki Quest) without the glass or innards and a couple matchbooks.
Buzzy Out!

I found this weird guy in a thrift store yesterday. It appears to be made of a sintered ceramic material and has a sandy feel to it. about 4 inches tall. Is it a tiki frog, frog tiki, or something else? Anybody recognize it? Mahalo.
