Nice John, I saw that one but had to pass since I need to fix the ones I already have That one is in excellent condition.
Here's my score - no markings, but I've seen it in some Don the Beachcomber menus:
It's a little smaller than my other scorpion bowls:
Here's the one I mentioned, in a DTB menu:

Just matchbooks this week:
I'm getting real close to 200 different tiki matchbooks in my collection now. I'm a tiki style purist and do not include any Hawaiian matchbooks in that count, unless they have a tiki image on them, that is.
Hey Hang10: What was that Voyagers book you posted last week?
Buzzy Out!

Bill,
Funny thing is that I've passed on that bowl at least twice at Alameda...I liked it and the price was fine...I just thought it was a TV knock-off or re-glaze and room is becoming an issue...Missed the Beachcomber connection...Nice Score!

She might not be much to look at, but she's in the Hall China brochure for Chinese, Japanese and Polynesian items.
Judging by the dark knot on her throat, she's not just one of many, she's THE one.
I posted shots of the brochure in the Polynesian restaurant china thread.

Nice find DAGG...
Well I told the Buzz I never find matches and it started raining.
Wife found this HEAVY Moai while I was at work.
She is getting good at hunting.
Then she sent me this photo
I froze and asked for more pics...
Later I received these via text,
She said "Look what I found"
What a wife...
I still have to dust if off, but it looks great.
I know, I know, not a Tiki, but I like it and I will pretend there is a Moai inside at the wheel
The best part..................................... only $4.00
And I have to put it together right
There are a couple pieces not attached yet

H10,
I have an almost identical moai. Note the differences in the shoulders area. Wonder what the original looked like.
When I first saw mine (in a thrift store) I thought it was hideous.Mine had been "drybrushed" with various colors including gold paint. I was gonna leave him behind but my tikiqueen insisted that I buy it. I'm glad as this moai has grown on me and is quite at home here in the Happy talk Lounge.
Mahalo for posting your finds.

NUU- killer
When I went through the entire Witco post looking to find the ship, I saw the same Moai a couple times in the background
Cool
Jon

Nice find! In my humble opinion, Witco ships are more 'tiki' than a whole lot of the tikis created nowadays...
