It has come to my attention, and I was just thinking about, the fact that we really have no protocol for when we sould post obits here on the good 'ol TC.
Should we post an obit on just anyone? Does it have to be someone famous? Does it have to be someone infamous? Can I post an obit for Baxdog even if I haven't killed him yet?
I mean, it's kind of pointless posting obituaries like it's "hey, you probably didn't know this but (insert name here) just died!"
It's not like anyone of notoriety isn't plastered all over the TV and media instantaneously anyway.
If we only post "famous" people, how do we determine to what degree they are or are not famous?
For instance, if me and Baxdog think a particular film producer of a particular type of movie with names like "Lick me Till I Explode", is famous, do we post his obit when the time comes (pun intended)?
If Baxdog has a stroke (pun intended) and dies while watching a particular type of movie, with names like "Lick me Till I Explode", do we post Baxter's obit?
Do we post obits because we want others to be aware of the death, and be in some sort of media mourning? (and would the deceased want us to mourn them?).
If we already had an appreciation for them, we'd probably already know their dead.
I think humans (me too) enjoy wallowing in the blues; even if it's for someone we never personally knew, and for someone that more than likely would most definately NOT want to hang around us anyway.
Do you think Princess Diana would buy an expensive china plate with our personal likeness on it if we got killed in a drunken, coked-out car crash before her?
(I never really understood the working-class fascination with P-Di (her hip hop name). I mean what are you really going to do with a Princess Diana TV tray in 10 years.)
Anyway, from this point forward, and forever more, we only post obits when I say (unless it's mine ha-ha)

Damn you Bong! You're such a cruel taskmaster. Did you have to piss in the last punchbowl I have left?... The bitter-sweet angst I feel when I can tip my hat to the my fallen compadres who've somehow managed to beat me to the grave and trade parting words with my fellow TCers. I say if we have to have a RULE (I so love that word) on posting obits, we reserve our eulogies for the Tragically Hip (whomever you perceive them to be).

Now why the hell do you think Astronauts are going to die in Orbit.
And what does my porno fetish have to do with orbits or Astronauts.
Princess die (some people might think that is a little violent)
Why does an Astronaut need Bong's approval to die with a Princess in Space orbit.
PS. The only porno I watch is from Director Andrew Blake, not that stuff that Bong hides under his bed?
When this stops being fun
It's our fault
