It's a classic of it's kind, but not exactly in frequent rotation here at the Kava Lounge. Though a fairly essential recording for most exotica completists, Africana & Beyond doesn't really mesh with the more accessible (and at the time more commercial) exotica artists of the day; i.e., Martin Denny, Aurthur Lyman, etc., but that also makes it appealing as an alternate texture to their more "vanillla" stylings.
