Aloha Friends,
Warm up your chilly holiday season with another chapter of Tiki Kiliki's
Tiki Torch Nights at Trader Vic's Atlanta in the Downtown Hilton presented
by Tiki Kiliki Productions and Trader Vic's!
If any Tiki Centralites are planning to attend please let me know so we can plan some additional weekend outings!
Appearances and Special Guests include author and Tiki Culture Guru Otto
Von Stroheim creator of the fanzine Tiki News, founder and organizer of
the annual event Tiki Oasis at the Caliente Tropics Resort in Palm
Springs! Otto brings his new book "Tiki Art Now!" dedicated to new styles
in Tiki art featuring such artists as Shag, Bosko, Flounder, Dave Burke,
Von Franco among others. Don't miss this chance to purchase this book and
have it signed by Otto and contributing artist Derek Yaniger!! Derek's work has
been seen in other such publications as Atomic Magazine, Barracuda Magazine and Car Kulture Deluxe
Magazine, whom also has supported and provided artwork for Hukilau 2003,
Hukilau 2004, Wild Weekend in Spain, plus Tiki Oasis in Palm Springs!
Get ready for the tribal calls of TONGO-HITI, Atlanta's only Exotica band,
as they take you on a journey through song to the Islands of Polynesia and
beyond. The Dames Aflame will grace the stage with their fiery potions a
plenty and the swaying hips of Hula Halau Kapilialoha bring their
traditional dancing and music directly from Hawaii. As always the ever
delicious Temptation Potion will be given away promptly at midnight to the
lucky winner of the raffle drawing!
A Pu Pu Platter of surprises will delight you all evening! Plus, Shag calendars will be given away to the first 50 people to buy the 3/$5 raffle tickets!!

Tai's are $4.50 until closing. Be sure to ask about Trader Vic's drink
mixes and the new Black Moai Tiki mug designed especially for Trader Vic's

Y'all ready for a West Coast Invasion? I'm flying to Atlanta just for this event... I had such an amazing time when I was at July's Tiki Torch Nights, and I can't wait to go back. It's gonna be a blast with Otto there, too!
I can practically taste the hungover-Sunday-morning biscuits now....

Count me in as well. Missed the last one 'cause of Thanksgiving travel, and I'm running out of Navy Grog mix!
Why, I've almost forgotten what Monkey Zuma's finger smells like...

I wish we could make it but with finals it does not look good for us. However, just wanted to "warn" you that the AAA (American Anthropological Association) annual meeting is going to be in the HIlton the same weekend. It should be a great time with a nice mix of tiki folk and anthropologists. Have a great time!

Sadly, I can't make it for this after all... I've got a few things keeping me in town this weekend. I'm going to try to not think too much about what I'm missing out on!

Well, Saturday night's T.T.N. was a blast! Thank you Kiliki for the rockabilly disc, and for another awesome event at Vic's. I hate that we had to cut out early, but that's just how it is when you've been...uh..."sick"...(Friday night was great tho' and we really enjoyed hanging out with you, Otto, Amy and her husband- just shoulda' skipped that last suffering bastard...). Great to see Terri & David on the way out too- congratulations to them on their engagement!
