LOVE the little Maori figure behind this one too,, Gots any shots of him?

Ooo a Marq! Can't wait to see how this comes out. When's the last time you've carved a tiki?

Snowed in and frozen I'll bet.
It has been a brutal Winter here in the Midwest.

Thanks Benz, Chimp & Watango.
Lake, this winter is not as bad as last year. we have only had maybe 15" of snow this winter.
Well the Ash marq had to be sacrificed to the fire, it was full of bugs? along with the rest of the log pile I had? Got some other carves coming up soon, I hope. We might be moving again so not sure when I'll get a start on them. I'm kinda in limbo for the time being.

Bugs in the Ash?
Red Headed Ash Borers?
We've got Emerald Ash Borers here, but I've yet to come across them.
Ash being so hard, I've never seen ants in it. Same with wasp larva.
Pine and Basswood hold a lot of larva. Cedar repels insects.
Lucky you this Winter... we're over 54 inches this season... and counting.
Wish the miles were not so far, I've got a ton of seasoned wood here that needs carving... Ash and Birch.
