Slight change of plans: Z Girl and I won't actually be arriving until Sunday. We're staying with the Velours at the Tropicana (instead of the Stardust our usual haunt...) Anybody else going to be in Sin City at that time? Polynesian Pop?? HulaHula??
Apparently, Z Girl and I are among the few Centralites who have yet to visit Taboo Cove, so we'll be making a stop. At least it 'sounds' like things are improving - we'll keep our fingers crossed!
Also (and I know this was posted earlier, but I can't seem to find it...): how does one get to Sunset Park, final resting place of the Stardust Aku Aku?

Drats! I was hoping you guys would be out there on Friday the 8th. I'll be checking out Richard Cheese at Venus/Taboo Cove that night and was hoping to get some TC folks together while in town. Maybe Hula Hula can still meet us.
Here's the link to the thread about this:

Aloha All,
Hey Z, please post all info on Sunset Park. Mrs. Boo and I are going to be there on the 29th to see the Stones at the Hard Rock/Joint (i know they're not tiki. Actually, they kinda look like they're carved, don't they?). Would like to see the last Moai (bird perch) My Grandad did. Many mahaloooos.

Just wanted to mention that there is a Tiki themed slot machine at the mandalay bay..its a penny machine. I put in $5 and won $20...very lucky and the the only Tiki machine in the whole place. I used up some of my winnings at the Mandalay breakfast buffet and the food was excellent.

--I played that one too and had similar results - I think I put $10 in and came away with $25. It's one of those computerized, five reel multiline games. Generally I hate those when I play slots - I much prefer the 3 line traditional games, but couldn't resist putting in some time with the tiki slot game. I only found one at Mandalay Bay...I remember seeing it in one other casino, but can't remember which one (I think it may have been the Aladdin though).

Well, I just returned from my Vegas trip. Hula Hula and the Mrs was once again gracious enough to come out and meet me for my visit to town. We headed up to the Taboo Cove on Friday for drinks.
Now I know that some TC'ers have nothing but negative comments about Taboo Cove but let me tell you this - there was about a half dozen people in our party that night, we all ordered about 3 rounds of drinks (mai tais, zombies, suffering bastards, etc) and we didn't pay for ONE drink! That's right - NOT ONE! Since I make the 'Cove a regular stop on my visits to town, the Bartenders have gotten to know me and Hula Hula and so on Friday, drinks were on THEM! If it sounds like I'm bragging - it's because I am! Yeah, the music sucked but hey, WE DRANK FOR FREE!
Thanks again to Hula Hula for making me feel welcome in the town of excess. I believe on Monday he meets up with Doctor Z & Z Girl, Johnnie Velour & Lady Velour for another round at the Taboo Cove.
