I'm sure we all have our stories of "that great find."
I had one yesterday..I was at our annual public radio rather large fundraising used record/cd sale and while picking up a ton of jazz LPs, I ran across "Percussionata" by Monte Moya & The Surfers, quite rare exotica on Everest records.
I broke into a sweat & let out a few "Oh my God, Oh my God", etc. and had to explain to the lady leafing through LPs across from me..LOL. I've only seen it on eBay ONCE, NEVER in an online shop or in person..so it was QUITE a thrill to find a quite clean (mono) copy for $2.00...Ye-haa.
It's really only moderately interesting exotica though..more like a Cal Tjader recording..latin jazz..but, hey, now I OWN a copy..LOL.
I always break into a sweat when that happens..I recall a similar experience a few years ago stumbling across one of few remaining "The Waikikis" LPs I didn't yet have for $1.00.
Paradise is a state of mind.
