No news on Circus Circus but check Casino Death Watch for destruction information on all business with Vegas casinos.
And be sure to check 'The List' of what is going and about to go at the bottom.

Here's another site with all the Vegas info anyone would need.
Las Vegas Today and Tomorrow
Be sure to check out the 'Dreams' page of casinos and attractions like the 800 foot tall ride at the Stratosphere.

A Vegas paper reported today that the Tropicana has been sold and the new owners don't plan on demolisghing it for two years while they research demolition and construction options and funding.
From "casino Death watch" http://www.jetcafe.org/~npc/gambling/casino_death_watch.html
03/13/06
Pinnacle Gaming has announced it plans to acquire Aztar. This will combine the resources of the two companies making development of the Tropicana site in Las Vegas more likely, although the press release states:
Pinnacle intends to design a major project that would utilize the entire 34-acre site. It is estimated that the design phase of this project will require at least two years.
Based on this statement, we don't expect the Tropicana to close any time soon
