It was tough to figure out where to post this, but alas, I found my way back to Monkey Business...I have been away from Bilge for far too long!
Today I came across a marketing piece in a store that I couldn't take my eyes off of...it was a sort of poster that had monkeys playing musical instruments, including bongos. Look what I came home with:
They have a website, but I don't see the art that I saw in the store:
http://www.papiowines.com
The label I have is different from what's on the web, and I failed to notice if the art was the same on the merlot and others as it is on the Chardonnay. I really wanted the bongo playing monkey art.
What do monkeys have to do with wine?
Papio’s name is taken from the Latin word for baboon, so we decided to honor its namesake by helping to protect primates and their natural African habitats. Since Papio first launched, it has partnered with the African Wildlife Foundation to protect some of Africa’s most treasured primates, such as the chimpanzee, golden monkey, mountain gorilla and bonobo, along with their habitats. I believe it’s important to support wildlife and habitat conservation and I’m proud of Papio’s partnership with the AWF.
Monkeys are such playful, sociable animals. They’re a great reminder of what wine should be all about: having fun!
Edited to add this wine enabling link: http://www.simplebits.com/notebook/2005/01/19/wine.html

What do wine-swilling, partying monkeys need?
Red lights and crappy dried out mistletoe to swing under, of course!
(the store let me have the display poster!)
p.s. these monkeys may not seem animated now, but just pour yourself one glass of the evil monkey wine and watch!
