Genesis P-Orridge, The omni-sexual singer for Throbbing Gristle, now has dozens of weiner piercings AND fake boobies.

The first half of Aqualung by Jethro Tull is purty durned creepy!!! "as he bends to pick a dog-end"!?!? what were they thinking! --plus it was a hit!!

Sitting on a park bench --
Eyeing little girls with bad intent.
Snot running down his nose --
Greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes.
Drying in the cold sun --
Watching as the frilly panties run.
Feeling like a dead duck --
Spitting out pieces of his broken luck.
Sun streaking cold --
An old man wandering lonely.
Taking time
The only way he knows.
Leg hurting bad,
As he bends to pick a dog-end --
He goes down to the bog
And warms his feet.

Feeling alone --
The army's up the rode
Salvation ŕ la mode and
A cup of tea.
Aqualung my friend --
Don't start away uneasy
You poor old sod, you see, it's only me.
Do you still remember
December's foggy freeze --
When the ice that
Clings on to your beard is
Screaming agony.
And you snatch your rattling last breaths
With deep-sea-diver sounds,
And the flowers bloom like
Madness in the spring.

Santa's In A Wheelchair

It's Christmas eve and the sky is gray
Santa's on the roof with his reindeer and sleigh
He steps on the chimney and slips on some snow
Head first, down he goes
He lands in the fireplace, his feet in the air
And wakes up to his worst nightmare
He tries to stand up but to his surprise
He can't get up cause he's paralyzed

Santa's in a wheelchair
Santa's in a wheelchair
Rollin through the night air
Santa's in a wheelchair

He's lying there in a mess of toys
When he fell in he made a whole lotta noise
But only one woke up, I don't know why
It was a kid from Widney High
She rolled in and saw him lying there
And knew that he was gonna need her chair
Santa couldn't move and was losin time
When she spoke up and said "Take mine."
(Chorus)

Do we feel sorry for Santa? No! No!
Do we pity Santa? No! No!
Do we still love Santa? Yeah..... yeah, yeah, yeah
(Chorus)
(Breakdown)
(Chorus)
(Chorus)
(Tag)

Wait, this one is WAY better....

I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was my woman
As she deceived me I watched and went out of my mind
My, my, my, delilah
Why, why, why, delilah
I could see that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free
At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I cross the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my delilah
Why, why, why delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me delilah I just couldn’t take any more

[insert trumpet solo here]

She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my, delilah
Why, why, why, delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me delilah I just couldn’t take any more
Forgive me delilah I just couldn’t take any more

This Rick Nelson song as performed by the Cramps on their first EP gets my vote:

There's a place where lovers go
To cry their troubles away.
And they call it,
Lonesome Town,
Where the broken hearts stay.

You can buy a dream or two
To last you all through the years.
And the only price you pay
Is a heart full of tears.

Goin' down to Lonesome Town,
Where the broken hearts stay.
Goin' down to Lonesome Town,
To cry my troubles away.

In the town of broken dreams,
The streets are filled with regret.
Maybe down in
Lonesome Town,
I can learn to forget.
Maybe down in
Lonesome Town,
I can learn to forget.

Lots of great creepy songs here! Here's the one that gets my vote, "Polly", by Nirvana. Even though I loved the "Nevermind" album, I always had to skip past this song, because it creeped me out, and that was before I learned the whole story behind the song. What makes the song even creepier is that it's a true story about a creepoid that kidnaps a woman, and tortures her with blowtorches, etc. She actually escaped, and the song is her account to the police of what that guy did to her:

Polly wants a cracker
I think I should get off her first
Maybe she wants some water
To put out the blow torch

Isn’t me
Have a seed
Let me clip
Your dirty wings
Let me take a ride
Hurt yourself
Want some help
Please myself
Got some rope
Have been told
Promise you
Have been true
Let me take a ride
Hurt yourself
Want some help
Please myself

Polly wants a cracker
Maybe she would like more food
She asked me to untie her
A chase would be nice for a few

Isn’t me
Have a seed
Let me clip
Your dirty wings
Let me take a ride
Hurt yourself
Want some help
Please myself
Got some rope
Have been told
Promise you
Have been true
Let me take a ride
Hurt yourself
Want some help
Please myself

Polly said

Polly says her back hurts
She’s just as bored as me
She caught me off my guard
’mazes me the will, of instinct

Isn’t me
Have a seed
Let me clip
Your dirty wings
Let me take a ride
Hurt yourself
Want some help
Please myself
Got some rope
Have been told
Promise you
Have been true
Let me take a ride
Hurt yourself
Want some help
Please myself

Throbbing Gristle may have had slightly more disturbing lyrics than the Misfits but when it comes to appearance who's scarier?

Throbbing Gristle

The Misfits

Personally I think I'd rather take my chances with TG in a dark alley... I'm actually kinda surprised no one has mentioned one of the Misfits' songs as being creepy... must have something to do with the fact that no one can really understand what the hell Danzig is yelling!

Take for instance this beloved favorite... I'm actually kind of amazed that I didn't understand a single word of this when I listened to it on a regular basis (I guess I was too busy actually riding my skateboard to try and figure out the lyrics) A lot more disturbing than I imagined... why the hell didn't Tipper Gore and the PMRC go after these guys instead of messing around with Jello and the Dead Kennedys and Frank Zappa?

Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight

1, 2, 3, 4
Singled out the kids who are mean to me
Get straight A's but they still make fun
I don't give a, I'll laugh last
Stayed in every night
Do my homework so I'll be smart
Girls all say I'm a little fucked
Mommy I'm a good boy
Mommy I'm a fuckin' savior
Mommy I'm alive
Mommy, can I go out and kill tonight
Rip the veins from human necks
Until they're wet with life
Razor-blades love teenage flesh
An epidermoty
I'll bring back a souvenir
For it's my mommy's dream
Can I go out and kill tonight, kill tonight
Killed a girl on lovers' lane
I kept her toes and teeth
Every night I stalk around until I find my keep
I'll bring back a souvenir
For it's my mommy's dream
Can I go out and kill tonight, kill tonight
Killed a girl on lovers lane
I kept her toes and teeth
Every night I stalk around until I find my keep, mommy
I'll bring back a souvenir
For it's my mommy's dream
Can I go out and kill tonight, kill tonight
Kill tonight, kill tonight, kill tonight, kill tonight
Kill tonight, kill tonight

Johntiki, I read a recent interview with Jerry where he stated that he & Doyle wrote most of the music & Glenn wrote most of the lyrics, but when they'd be rehearsing Jerry & Doyle couldn't always tell what Glenn was singing & they'd stop and ask if so-and-so was the lyric, if Glenn liked their version better he'd change it to what they said (so you're not the only person to not understand what Glenn was saying, the rest of the band wasn't always sure, either ).

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Big Black/Rapeman/Shellac:

Dead Billy

Hey little girl in U.S. dress
Come and give daddy a kiss
To Dead Billy, U.S. soldier in green
Little lady napalm butt
Come and give head to, to...
Dead Billy make you boomboomboom
Dead Billy

Dead Billy make you happy
Dead Billy make you crawl
Dead Billy put your head in his hole
Dead Billy show you what it's like to die

This is not a love song
And this is not a kiss
For Dead Billy

Dead Billy make you happy
Dead Billy make you crawl
Dead Billy put your head in his hole
Dead Billy show you what it's like to die

This is not a love song
And this is not a kiss
For Dead Billy
No Viet

Precious Thing

I would like to wrap your hair around your neck like a noose
I would like to wrap your legs around my neck like a lock
You are my precious thing, thing of speed and beauty
You are my precious thing, as long as you remain beneath me
I will hold you down, I will hold you down, I will pin you down
I will hold you down, I will hold you down, I will pound down on you

You are my precious thing, you are my precious thing, you are my precious thing
I will hold you down, I will hold you down, I will pin you down
I will hold you down, I will hold you down, I will pin you down
I will hold you down, I will hold you down, I will pound down on you
You are my precious thing, thing of speed and beauty, you are my precious thing
You are my precious thing, thing of speed and beauty
You are my precious thing, as long as you remain beneath me

I never thought of bands that try to be scary as being creepy, like the Cramps or the Misfits or Screamin' Lord Sutch. Those bands are/were great because they're so twisted and funny and the bands don't take themselves too seriously.

Then there are the "goth" bands like Bauhaus that take it way too seriously. Those bands don't seem creepy to me either.

But Throbbing Gristle is definitely creepy!

Yeah. That reads way creepier than the Ricky Nelson version.
