Nice find on the Lanai ashtray sputnikmoss. I beleive that is one of the older versions as it is more rare than the usual one seen... the one that just reads Lanai on the side along with Villa Hotel.
Aloha,

Aloha,

Thanks that is good to know. I LOVE finding the midcentury artifacts! The only thing better would be time traveling for a few cocktails and hiding it in my purse myself!

Just thought I'd bring back this thread with a cool carved wood ashtray I just got as a gift from a friend. She tells me her grandmother had it for years. Stands about 11" tall.

Bruce, nice collection, never heard about the Kahili Hut, and the Paradise Isle design is also totally new to me!

Man oh man, there's some nice stuff there. Now that is a collection! The glass logo ones don't do much for me, but some of those pottery pieces....
I guess I actually have quite a few ashtrays, but I'll just post my favourite one:

That IS one great ashtray, Paipo. And Bongo: You win! God, there are so many cool ones, the modernist ones, the A-frames, and so many unsolved riddles..
Let's do a book "The Art of Smoking"! Tiki AND modernist ashtrays, matchbooks and lighters! Whos's gonna do it!?
