I'm thinking about retiring my handcrank crusher, has anyone tried the Deni 6000?

I picked up a Deni 6000 last summer fairly cheap, and it's OK...but not great. It takes a while to crush a cupful of ice, and it works better when crushing the smaller "cocktail ice" cubes, rather than the bigger full-size ice cubes.

Me two!
I'm still using the Lewis Ice Bag and mini-bat my father passed down to me in 1967 (though I've had to resew the seam a couple of times), and it still works as originally designed - no improvements needed!

I recently discovered that its near impossible to rent an ice crusher in South Florida. And to purchase a commercial one will set a person back almost a thousand buck. Whew!!!
Has anyone had any luck finding a reasonable priced slightly larger scale ice crusher? For the project I had to seek the ice crusher, I ended up purchasing the Waring IC70 Pro Professional Ice Crusher. Its not indented for restaurant use 'Cuz it can't take the daily strain. But for a large party of people and the need to crush 15 lbs worth, it was the best option I could find. Heard it did okay, but the crushed ice seemed just fine when the final product came out in the drinks.

I've had the Oster sit-on-top-of-blender ice crusher for YEARS, found one for a buck in a thrift store, brand-spanking new in its original box. And there are always a few on eBay for around $25-$30 if anyone is interested... I now have a refrigerator that crushes ice for me, which is not very consistent in terms of particle size, but it works fine. So I still keep the Oster blender attachment crusher around as a novelty and for when I take my bar on the road to The Hukilau. It works great, is powered by the blender, and let me tell you that this is a serious high-quality vintage ice crusher. It's also nice to see how Oster has kept the same mechanical attachment format for so many years. I'm using a $19 Osterizer blender from Lowe's which I bought 6 years ago and thought would be a good "starter" blender, but it's lasted all these years, through many parties and many drinks, and I never have any problems with it. You can't beat this combination of vintage Oster ice crusher and Osterizer blender from Lowe's. Get 'em both while you can!
